To take a shot at the ? (as a musician): I think it's because he never oversimgs...what you hear is what you get, no acrobatics or show off stuff. He just sings as naturally as you can.

I just listened to a Free performance from when this song was on the radio. He's still singing it in the same key, nearly 50 years later! And hitting the high notes! This gives me hope as a singer. What a talent!

But it took me about 40 years to eventually get "Wishing Well" (but that's another story.) And Paul Rodgers, still up there with the finest rock singers of all time. Could there be a rock band that wouldn't want him?

One of the top 5 rock vocalists of all time. He was blessed with a voice that still sounds staggering to this day. Apparently, he was Freddie Mercury's fave vocalist. Also, nice to see the bass player using the Gibson SG bass that Andy Fraser used.

Never did get a chance to see this incredible singer. I've always thought since the Free Band days, that he has a unique style and ironically, I sang bluesy rock very much like him before I even heard of him back in the 70s. So, it saddens me to never have been able to sit in the audience rawkin out to this iconic rocker!! One of the best!!
