Gilmour may be one of the very best ever. He belongs in the conversation, though he uses great discipline that doesn't allow him in comparisons with the flashy types. But could you imagine following him on any stage? LOL
@meekdoug9 жыл бұрын
David Gilmours was the stand out performance on that album . Not a note wasted and you can feel every one of them ,
@danielstark70685 жыл бұрын
EXACTLY -- well said ! It's not how many notes you play--it's where you put them. Gilmour's blues guitar, to my ears, is reminiscent of Peter Green's (in Greenie's prime).

I love several of the cuts from this gem of an album. Jeff Beck's rendition of "I just wanna make love to you" is also epic.
@maxxuman99154 жыл бұрын
Agreed, it's still one of the tastiest blues guitar performances I've heard and I was surprised when I saw who it was after I got the album all those years ago.
Ohhh...Sing it Babe! Rodgers has the perfect voice to give this low-down blues song the credit it deserves.

The best thing about growing older is that after buying a huge Vinyl collection, CD's and countless concert tickets is that I can surf the internet and find overlooked pieces of music from some of my all time favorite artists. I live in the Mississippi River Delta on the Louisiana side and this slice of BLUES goes down just fine. LIFE LONG GILMOUR * RODGERS FAN.

I had extremely high expectations when I learned about Rodgers Muddy Waters tribute album and my oh my, the man really delivered it for me personally. Of course having Gilmour on the guitar makes this one even sweeter. The British have always loved our blues here in America and I have often loved their interpretation.

Seems that this song , extremely well sung, about one of the absolute best blues singer ever, is , in fact, about electric guitar. I suggest isolated guitar solos, on youtube, no voice, no bass, no brass, no drums, nothing but clapton, Bonamassa, Moore, Lee, etc oh, Bonamassa again ( the star of these days deserves twice his name), and every olympic neckrunner, blackglassed, and fly swallower.
