Cool! Very interesting. The world's most dangerous band. Thanks for sharing.

The early 80s, to about '91 were the high water mark years. Small, intimate and Comfortable show, mistakes and intentional awkwardness. After NBC, too comercial. A prime example of this, was Mr. Curious. Dave unknown, on the sidewalk, politely accosting passersby. Genius.

My question is, with all the incredible music this band has done on the show, will they ever release a video/dvd of the best stuff so we can enjoy THE WHOLE SONGS instead of snippets cut to pieces by commercials? I've never even once seen a complete clip of just the band. Annoying as fuck. And I don't want to hear any "copyright" crap excuses, either. It's music, it will sell. Step out of the bubble and package that shit.

owlcu Take it easy. Hearing incomplete songs might be "annoying as fuck," but the reality is that the house band is for the entertainment of the studio audience during the time allotted for commercials. Shows like that are run and recorded like live shows. The tape keeps rolling in the spots where stations will cut away for commercials. Wanna hear entire songs? Gotta see a show live. BTW, the Letterman band did release an album in '93.

Compare his band to ANY of the Tonight Show Bands. Like comparing a HS basketball team to the NY Knicks. They called it "The CBS Orchestra". What an insult to Ray Bloch who was music director at CBS for the Sullivan Show, the Gleason Show and so many other shows.

Let me guess, real music stopped in 1955, right?

Tbh Paul was the biggest non help to a talk show. And his talent is questionable. Fkin lambamba on conan has more personality just standing, and kimmels nameless faceless noise makers have the same added value as Paul.
