Kiss is best when being blasted out of the speakers of a top down cherry red 1978 corvette convertible, on a warm summer night, wearing sunglasses even though it's 11pm, and meeting up with friends from school at a house party while their parents are away at the Hamptons for the weekend, and making out with the blonde you had your eye on all that year in class, but you didn't dare touch her because her dad thought you were a long haired, grass smoking, acid lickin' creep and forbade it! The avatars were possibly the absolute worst route they could have taken at the end. The once rumored reality show to find a Gene and Paul replacement would have been kind of...ehhhhh, but 100 times better than cartoons and we would at least have personalities we could possibly bond with or appreciate. I agree, it's a $10 show, if it's near by. I live in small town Iowa and traveled to NYC to see the last "KISS 'n Friends" show. Unless the avatars come to small Iowa county fairs in the summer time, it's gonna be a nahhh from me.

Two things...was I the only one who heard Paul say (after they watched the preview) to Gene; " I'd pay to see that!" But more importantly, as big of s fan as I am, WHO CARES? It's their money and their decision. If they spend all that money on Avatars and it bombs...they lose millions. However, if they make profits, than they win. Alas, it still doesn't matter, it's THEIR choice. No one is forcing anyone to pay to see them as Avatars if they don't want to.

I think this new "era" is more directed toward the newest generations of Kiss fans. People that grew up more into the digital times and never had the chance to experience the Kiss phenomenon in all its glory. I don't find the idea appealing at all but then again I am a dinosaur already.

If you watch the video of the guys in KISS seeing the Avatars for the first time, they were pumped up about what they were seeing. There is no way in hell they showcase those Avatars @ their final show unless they were happy with the final product. They're in panic mode now that they saw the reaction it got.

I agree, it shouldn't be more than the cost of a movie ticket and stream-able or VOD. I'm not paying concert level costs to watch a video game.

With the recent Gene Simmons' comment "they're spending over $200 million on this...". When referring to the AI avatar debacle Gene used the third-party term 'they're' to signify the decision to continue developing the avatars up until 2027 is not his and Paul's alone. It has been floated in many real fan circles the KISS brand likely has a third-party financial interest pushing an ABBA-like hologram show still years ahead to be realized. Gene still maintains a living, breathing KISS 2.0 similar to the Blue Man Group is what he prefers.

I don't know why everyone is hating on Ace I was at the Kentucky and it was awesome! I'm not even the biggest kiss fan I'm a fan of good music and a good show and Ace killed it!

Simply entertainment industry. Many of us wouldn't go to a Kiss avatar show, but on the other hand it will arouse the curiosity of thousands of young people who haven't had the opportunity to see Kiss live. At the very least it will be an interesting presentation.

This idea is one of those that gets dumber and dumber the more you think about it. If they wanted a reboot, they could have introduced a new KISS, 4 guys in their 20's, unknowns playing the classic era music. They could have appeared from the smoke and played Detroit Rock City, that would have been a new exciting era. They can say AVATAR but it's really just a fancy cartoon.

The Avatars are Pauls dream image of KISS as super heros. Problem being that its never been the fans dream. They almost lost everything when they tried the superhero stuff in the late 70's. Rock fans turned their backs and KISS faced years of ridicule after. They should really rethink the superhero angle. The Avatars will only work for presenting classic KISS shows and will have a short life at that. The only way Avatars get longevity is by having a current Live KISS band with two women rockers in place of Gene and Paul. Mix it up hard! Imagine going to see KISS 1976 Avatar show, then a month later going to see New Live KISS?!!! That would be Amazing!!!!

Huge difference between a band that has probably sold almost 400 million records worldwide and broke up 40 years ago and a band that has sold less than 100 million records and has refused to call it a day... even after doing a 'final tour' 25 years ago! LOL They'll charge $200 a ticket and it'll close in a week. The End.

What they should've done if they really wanted to keep it going is get either Tommy and Eric and two other guys from topnotch tribute bands to play Paul and Gene, call it "The KISS Experience" and make it like a festival with a museum and rides and appearances and interactive shit and then the actual concert. Like a carnival, or circus. A PSYCHO CIRCUS! All hits of course because most people who would go would only know them anyway. Make it like a family night out kind of thing. And if they still want to use the avatars, make a big video game out of them that you can play while there.

Debuting this at their last concert was a blunder. The only people who paid attention to it were some of the pay per viewers who watched the whole thing. People were getting ready to try to get their Wonka tickets or on their app figuring out when the next train was coming. This would have made more sense to debut it at Comic Con in a few years, because that’s where the avatar audience is. I have no idea if this is going to sink or swim. ABBA was a whole other thing, Agnatha (the blonde one) was pretty reclusive so getting her to rejoin was kind of a shock to fans. They had new music but felt too old to tour so they suited up. They also had a MASSIVE Broadway musical. Do I think Queen is going to do this? Yeah, Brian May is all about the money and keeping Freddie’s legacy around. But…. I think we’re going to see “immersive experiences” more than trying to recreate the band on stage. Elvis and Michael Jackson are inevitable. I can see Maiden doing it but it’s Immersive Eddie and the album art. I think people just want KISS to go away for a while.

We thought the Reunion showed they truly remembered us again, but Psycho Circus showed the truth. By not showing Ace and Peter respect they really were disrespectful of the fans. I'm glad it's over now we should just talk about classic era and the unmasked era. Dump the rest and the cartoons.

Their best bet would be to try and reinvent the band as characters having adventures like a Metalacolypse type tongue in cheek action/comedy sci-fi/fantasy thing where the music was just a background element, it would have to stand on it's own merits as entertainment that didn't need to have the actual band's legacy to prop it up, other than something like that it just seems like a dismal sad failure waiting to flop and be ignored.

If I was there. The idea itself isn't the worst thing. If Gene and Paul asked a fan (me) my thoughts is, 1st it shouldn't just be Gene, Paul, Tommy and Eric. It should include Eric Carr, Peter, Ace, Bruce, Mark St John, Vinnie honoring the legacy. Have the Demon, Starchild, Space Man, Catman, add The Fox, Egyptian Warrior in it as icons, Fine. Add the worlds each inhabit. I'd have tributes to The Fox Eric Carr and Mark St John with animalized things like a white tiger spirit during Heaven's on Fire. If they have something for Bruce his Asylum Jacket and Unholy have something. Eric Singer with blonde hair and green headband. Have a part where you have the whole band playing Rock and Roll all Night. Paul's short sightedness is his worst flaw. Because he holds so many grudges. Create new music, Do something new with this. If they did KISS 2 with all new members ok.. create new music, update the costumes to a new generation. We have cover bands all over the world. I love KISS, but to me Ace has been the 1 always moving forward, doing new music. I see Gene with his solo band going out. I love him to finally give us a Demon album. His last 2 solo album were odd, That is what I'd tell him (Learn from Ace) and them think outside of the box. Retirement is fine, I don't see them coming back for World tours. But if your pushing the brand please those that will support it. I don't think the Avatar gets people upset, I think it's not including past members who helped start it and help keep it going.. and i'll be honest with you boss, The last great record of KISS was Revenge. Psycho Circus, Sonic Boom and Monster.. wasn't moving forward. It felt like they were recapturing the past not going forward. Had ok songs but nothing feel evolved. Alice Cooper, Ozzy, Sabbath, Priest, Maiden bands who also shaped my musical tastes.. there albums to this day feels like evolving. If they are good or not, up to everyone's tastes but they are still putting new things out. I just think that is where us KISS fans are jaded, Tommy and Eric not having their own gimmicks and the music not really moving forward. Shows are just the same songs. Paul's voice. And I don't mind backtracking or lip sinking but don't lie. That's where if they did more new songs with Tommy and Eric fill new tracks on the live shows, less tunes for Paul. But he's not singing like Grandma for 2 hours. I do feel sorry for Gene because I do think he wanted what we did. Paul calls the shots.
