So satisfying to watch Weller being interviewed: so real and down to earth and yet such a poetic musical genius - a lovely guy. And what a heartwarming thing to put out there especially nowadays: be kind to each other.❤

I've always admired Paul Weller as a musician, I saw him play with the Jam in a nightclub in Brum before they were famous but that closing line in this interview of, "be kind to each other and patient" is the mark of a really decent guy. Thank-you Mr Weller. Respect.

Fab interview. Wonderful insight into some of his inspirations. What comes across is that he is still a big music fan, and it was great to see his love for the Beatles, as well as other artists I have not heard of, which I will now check out. Can't understand why so many negative comments. OK, so he wasn't so keen on Liam Gallagher's new album but he knows the guy and said positive things about him. Paul Weller has consistently produced amazing work that inspires millions and is still doing so 40 years after his first record. Along the way he has changed bands and styles, and even if you don't like everything he has done you can't argue that he has great style.

Ah, what can one say about "Tomorrow Never Knows?" There was never a song like it before, and no one has been able to replicate it since. Hendrix came the closest with "Are You Experienced?" Both songs contain the first backward guitar solos that I fell in love with. Paul's most definitely on the money with that one....it STILL sounds like the future!

Top man. Healthy legacy, too. He has always been uncomfortable in front of cameras, slightly self-effacing or shy. I'd often wondered if it was genuine... I think it may be, judging by the way, over the course of the interview - and without realising it, he'd managed to cut his cheek with his long thumb nail, because of a fidgety nervousness. Cool man of pop/rock, indeed.

I saw the Jam around 1987 here in NYC. What impressed me to this day was Paul's ability to play guitar and sing simultaneously so well. That might sound simple, and with basic phrasing in the same key it is. However Paul had an amazing handle on phrasing outside the same key he was playing. As a guitarist all my life, I know what that entails. The Jam were an exceptional band. Thank you Paul for adding a great catalogue of hard hitting, good time rockin'. Be well.

Concerning Liam - Weller is Noel's mate, clearly, but he is always frank and honest about music - admits to ripping the Beatles himself (still). I think the sentiment is genuine - good for Liam, back in the game, nothing wrong with Beady Eye. About the lyrics, he is a song writer, so clearly this is a relevant detail for him and they weren't that strong on As You Were - Liam himself admits this "I'm not a song writer, I am a singer, a performer" - he said this all through the interviews for AYW so why are people getting upset about the comment? Noel was more offensive about AYW - he moaned about Liam's 'army of songwriters' which is complete bollocks. He seemed so miffed that AYW went to number one and Liam was welcomed back by the industry. He was jealous to death of him in the band... and nothing has changed.
