What an absolute delight to listen to! Paul and Bob are the reason I dusted off my late dad's fly fishing gear and made a nervous journey to the local river bank. They made me feel like it wasn't so daunting and I'm glad to say two years later it's become my passion. I've caught 79 brown trout and 4 grayling this year on the Yorkshire Esk and the Tees. It if hadn't been for Gone Fishing I would never have felt inspired to have a go. I was lucky enough to have a go at Spey casting on the Ure last month what an amazing graceful way to cast, I caught nothing & they had to pull me out of the river in darkness as I just didn't want the day to end..I couldn't lift my arms up for two days but it was worth it! I'm sure my dad is somewhere up there watching me and laughing at my casting but I'm sure he'd be proud that I'm out there using some of his fly rods and reels. Next step is tying my own flies this winter! Hope you get to Buenos Aires one day! Mell

Tell Paul if he did a you tube channel he could raise loads of awareness and money for the rivers, he would smash 10,000 viewers in a day! Also love this channel and the blogs, I can work and listen to them like the radio, such a nice change from 'in your face' type you tube fishing. Bravo.

one thing i think about the shows popularity . is it kind of like last of the summer wine or top gear. really long running shows. its the simplicity . its a few blokes who get on and having a good day. no drama just gentle interaction. thats why it will run for as long as paul and bob want to keep doing it. and like paul said the beauty of the river and the filming is a joy

wow Pauls outlook on dangling is pretty much like mine we could be twins !! but Im old enough to be his dad lol looking forward the the magic in the 4th series of 2 top blokes I could definitely go fishing with them ! what a scream it would be and away !!!

Mr Whitehouse, get back down the valleys good boy - not only do we miss you, but the fishing is now spectacular. Spent most of childhood (about 10 yr ago), fishing out tiny, beautifully formed brown trout. Some beautiful narrow valley stretches on Tyleri, Ebbw, etc. Might not quite be south America....
