One thing that I've learned about 80s pop dancing from like my mom and aunts and stuff is that dancers back then used their WHOLE body to move. They didn't just shake their asses like twerkers do or just put emphasis on one body part, they put in work and used the entire body to dance, Paula is great example of that, I love her, amazing dancer/choreographer.

I love that she can't recall so much of her past choreography on the spot. That's hard to do, but i guess a lot is muscle memory. Sometimes when I take dance class nowadays, I can remember choreography but just for a short time (like a week or two), because every week it's new. But for dances I did when I was younger that we would practice and perform over and over, I can remember some of those to this day, either pieces of them or the full dance, and I'm 34.

I will always hold what we had in the 80s close to my heart. It was just an amazing time to be alive. And these music geniuses played a huge role in making it memorable.

First of all. MJ James Brown Sammy Davis Jr don't need "choreography" for people to appreciate them. These guys were known for their body movements and not what and which choreography they did. MJ's Billie Jean had stadiums roaring. Even when he did little improvisations. What you said applies little more to females.
@JacquelineSoulchick
@JacquelineSoulchick 7 жыл бұрын
Shauna&MJJ 1190 I'm not at all saying the dancers should not be appreciated, and I'll leave it at this, in reference to MJ, his "silo improvisations" that people think are so original, while yes, there's no denying he was an amazing dancer, but his moves, he got a lot of them from jazz choreographer legend Bob Fosse. look up the video"Little Prince, Bob Fosse" ( it will say sssnake in the grass) watch that and be blown away. MJ totally took his style of moving that we know so well, from Fosse.
