Paula Vennells, the former chief executive of the Post Office, issued an apology at the public inquiry for the "excessive, disproportionate and intolerable" suffering caused to hundreds of sub-postmasters who were wrongfully accused of false accounting and theft due to errors in the Horizon computer system used during her tenure from 2012 to 2019.

An apology is not enough. A significant prison sentence of 30 years or more is required.

Miss "Can't Remember","I cannot recall" or " I think"being investigated. How many times does this woman say" I can't remember" when questioned. Innocent peoples lives have been ruined! A prison sentence should apply to this woman

When you think of the utter misery the family's went through while she was in charge including suicides, and yet ordinary members of the public are threatened with jail over not paying their TV licence! Let's hope justice is done.

The Post Office IT Inquiry is the government's response to the ITV play. This Inquiry is also a play. It's not a prosecution ... it's not a criminal court. This is just Act II of the play. 🤷‍♂🤦‍♂

I saw these repeated apologies on the BBC website earlier today. I believe this is because she was found out, not because of a genuine remorse for the damage she has caused. A good man attempted suicide and subsequently lost his life as a result of her decisions. Hundreds of good people lost their jobs because of her. She should be prosecuted for manslaughter and the damage she has caused to peoples lives.
