Matchbox restoration Land Rover Safari nr. 12 making a luggage on roof diecast car

Green Land Rover was produced in 1966 and blue in 1967. In the last year of production Lesney introduced the Superfast version in gold. during renovation, I made the missing roof rack from RC 52 epoxy resin, I also made wheels from this resin. It took me a long time to make paint on the body and trunk

Fantastic work. I have these 2 as well. An unusual Matchbox. I can't think of another Matchbox car, of the Regular Wheels era, which had an all plastic base plate. It's light weight to hold too, for such a large station wagon. Some of the 4 axle trucks had an oddball setup, with 3 axles attached to the truck body, and one axle on a short plastic base - usually incorporates a separate grill/headlights, and maybe saving on painting them as separate details. Matchbox has a few one-off productions: #8 Mustang, the only one with lever operated steering, #46 Mercedes 300SE, the only one with both opening trunk and doors. Probably some others too, that I have missed.

Thanks for doing this one Paul. I have a fleet of Land Rovers to do and just needed some guidance on creating the molds for the luggage. I haven't tried mold making before so I'm hoping this will be good practice.....Regards PJ;)

After pouring resin into the mold, you need to mix the resin several times with a thin stick in the most difficult places. This will cause the air trapped there to flow to the top. At the beginning I flooded normally and there were always air bubbles somewhere in the corners of the suitcase. Best wishes

Excellent job!!! Those Land Rovers look like as they were 50 years ago. Can you restore a Ford Pick up No. 6 Superfast making the canopy? I have two of those, one is without canopy and the other is destroied the front.

I love the boxes, and how you mold parts 🙆‍♂️🙆‍♂️🙆‍♂️ I get that you love restorations. The first green land rover, the green flaked off. Bow much is it worth as an original??? Did you like it AT ALL??? If it was an old one, i would have paid for it. It was exceptionly well CONSERVED. The This is just 2 SEPERATE ideas about how to treat old items. Respectfully, Chuck

The green Land Rover, in this example was a repainted later blue version. In fact both models are later production blue versions - with the tow guide behind the front bumper. Quite accurate colour match, but not an original. Not worth much at all in the unrestored state it was in. I have one of each in green and blue, early production with no tow guides, and nearly perfect condition, so I'm not touching my examples.

Jeżeli położysz/przykleisz arkusz papieru po łuku, tj tak aby kartka papieru nie załamywała się na krawędzi łączenia ściany z podłogą tylko płynnie przechodziła ze ściany na podłogę, to uzyskasz efekt nieskończonej głębi . Jedyne na co w tedy musiał byś uważać to aby cienie nie padały na to zakrzywienie lub na ścianę.
