In this tip I explain how to get that slow easy swing. You know the one. It looks like you're barely swinging yet you hit the ball a mile. This is the swing I've been teaching since 1991. No matter what your age or skill level you can learn this effortless golf swing.
Free samples from my Body Swing book and video series here: bodyswing.com/freesamples/
If you learned golf as an adult, you're not doing this easy swing. Instead, you are just whacking away at it trying to hit the ball as hard as you can which makes your swing look fast and violent.
Although this hard, fast swing feels good you will not hit the ball your longest and you may end up hurting yourself. Plus, as you get older, you will continue to lose distance because as you age you get weaker.
A slow easy golf swing is based on your body rotation not your arms. This is why it looks slow yet it creates a ton of power. If you're sick of being inconsistent, not hit the ball very long and playing in pain then you need to learn this slow easy golf swing.
Please visit the link below and I will send you free samples from my Body Swing book and video series: bodyswing.com/freesamples/

If you are struggling follow Paul. His lessons are not something you have to spend hours with. I was ready to give up golf until I found Paul. I was a good golfer and slowly went from a draw to balloon fades over a couple years and just chalked it up to getting old. Was to the point of having to hit six iron from 150. Now I'm back to hitting eight iron from 150 and back to 280 yard drives and I'm 65 years old. If you can't follow his instruction and immediately improve, take up bowling. Thanks Paul!

Yes, it is time for you to make this super simple and get on track. You have been in the 70's so this should be a no brainer to get you back there. Few have ever broken 80 so you have done this before. First make it super simple. Making it complicated is not going to get you anywhere. Here is how simple this is: Neutral grip. Square stance Athletic set up not too bent over. Step 1 fix the spin: - Hit the top and manually roll it over and get every ball hooking. This is 5 mins. maybe 10. Slow learner 15mins. You need to roll this from the top. You are ONLY working on spin. The wrists affect spin. Once you can do this we know what you are going to do before you do it. You also need to memorize the feeling of releasing it so you can do it without thinking about it. Now every ball is pull hooking left. Great. See this a half right. You have the spin. Now you move on to body so you fix the direction. You hit the top. Instead of thinking about rolling it you switch your thought to firing your legs and hips. The easiest way is with your bel[t buckle. If your belt buckle moves before your arms you will hit it dead straight unless you fire the lower body a million mph. I am talking about a decent pace with the hips not crazy fast. Watch me do it here: kzfaq.info/get/bejne/p5uCos2F3ZvXeH0.html Then follow these steps: Wrists = Spin (Step 1) kzfaq.info/get/bejne/ppqmdLaetODPgJs.html kzfaq.info/get/bejne/g55ma7SkudKrpGg.html kzfaq.info/get/bejne/r651qZp4nsCZXWQ.html Body = Direction (Step 2) kzfaq.info/get/bejne/fLxoqLaLlpymqac.html kzfaq.info/get/bejne/iMqgm9eZqLedhoE.html kzfaq.info/get/bejne/o552q7aLuNOvdas.html (secret tip)

As soon as someone starts talking technical I instantly tune out. I don't want to hear it. I used to think like that too and it got me nowhere. I also like from the students perspective. People practice once a week and play once a week. There is no way they are going to do this technical stuff. That takes serious work and no one has time for it. Now it is all about fast and easy.

Im 53, Ive been playing golf for 30 years...with some years off in between years but lately im playing weekly. Ive always been an arms golfer with a strong grip. I ve been topping every single shot ...someone took a video of me last month and sure enough Im all tension and chicken wing. shots are going straight though. So I start looking at You Tube and now Im looking at Paul's channel. His Taming the Wild Stallion video was me...everything about it. So this past week Ive worked on hinge/rehinge and on a neutral grip. those were my two thought for Fridays round. Im not going to lie I had some miss hits and tops but NOTHING like before and my irons were the best Ive shot in a long time. Even had a 260 yard drive right down the middle...my playing partners were duly impressed. Thanks Paul!

I have watched countless 'training' videos by the best golfers in the world, after which, I was more confused by their method of instruction. The only tool missing in these videos is a mobile chalkboard. These videos are presented in such a way that you can easily visualize the point he is making &, along with the powerpoint pop-ups, you not only see it with your eyes but you see it with your mind, making his points easier to understand & more believeable that, "yeah, I can do that!". It says it all in the title of the product...BODYSWING.

Simple is the key. Being thinking this way for over 31 years. This is why I say things as I say them. I also know what people can handle so again it has to be simple. Imagine trying to teach someone something complicated when they hit balls for 20mins before they play once a week. Never going to happen. Simple positions, drills and movements that anyone can do. If they can do practice swings at home they get it super fast. Keep at it.

Great video, thanks Paul! I bought your body swing program the other day and have been watching through that, and swinging A LOT in the basement at the practice net. So far the struggle is getting the legs/hips moving and not trying to kill the ball with my arms. I chuckled at your first driver shot here because you make it look really easy. I'll have to go down in a bit and try that nonchalant approach. Maybe sneaking up on it is the answer haha.

Start off slow with this, do not try to get to top speed right away. Work on the swing positions first and then slowly add some more speed to it. If you start off at top speed then you might not be doing the positions, go at about a 50% speed to start with and then slowly speed it up the more confidence you get.

Paul Wilson is a legend! I went through a number of golf coaches and literally had no learning to show for it - came across Paul's videos and his course and I finally understood the golf swing (not to mention the grip and set up) . It's beauty is the simplicity of it - I'm not having to think about hinging my wrists or setting the club in the correct position or impact, all I need to focus on is turning shoulders on the backswing and turning hips on the downswing and physics takes care of the rest! I also would highly recommend Paul's short game course - there's sections on putting, chipping, pitching and sand play - again all so simply explained and not too difficult to master. I don't get to play that often but my putting is on a far higher level than lower handicappers purely from watching Paul's course.

Ernie Els, (the Big Easy)...Fred Couples, Hale Irwin, and so many others. Paul, you have just unlocked my fascination with trying to figure out how John Daly's down swing sometimes appears slower than his back swing as he crushes a 300 yard 3 wood effortlessly or a 200 yard 8 iron..the loose wrists activated by the hips and legs...excellent insight and understanding of the secret to power. Lee Trevino, Hubert Green, and the Cuban Chi Chi Rodriguez all have taken your teaching secret to the game masterfully. (as you know) Thank you for reminding me of something I've believed my whole life ( i'm an ex college golfer)...strong arm drives lead more 18th hole tournament leaders into the rough, sand, under a tree when we all could have plainly said to that guy...just ease a 3 iron or fluff a 5 wood IN THE MIDDLE and win this thing! But nooooo... a huge, go for broke, swing out of his shoes 125 mph canon blast through the fairway into trouble. Anyway, thank you for the video and common sense. The hardest game on earth does have secrets...and masters like you that have found one. Remember Jack Nicklaus (or Tiger) standing over a. 8-10 foot putt? It either hit the hole and missed, or dropped 99.999%... masters with secrets to the game....remember to always "make the ball hit the hole" no matter the mind being taxed by other thoughts. Again, thanks.

Glad you like the tips and are starting to see it. It's just a different power source. Keep in mind pros are pros. They don't need the money. They have a crowd standing right on the tee watching them. They are hyped up. What are they going to do baby one out there? No. They go for it. Once in a while it pays off. Most of the time it blows into the gallery on the right because they come out of it. Start watching Sunday golf are hole 14 and in and count how many go right versus left. If only they would swing at 80%. Oh, well maybe one day we will see one that NEVER swings beyond what they are capable of. 300-320 dead straight all day. Scheffler is pretty close to that.

@@rajindersingh419 Absolutely NOT too much repetition! Why not? Because 90 % of the golfers (my estimate) swing using their hands and arms. Until they correct this problem there is no other golf tip that is going to give them a good golf swing. Since this problem continues to exist, mostly unabated, there is no way you can have too much repetition--the concept is too basic!!

I legit feel like a complete idiot but hearing your story about how you went from a scratch golfer to shooting in the 90s because of "lessons", makes me feel a little better. I used to swing this way 2+ years ago when I really go going in golf again. After lessons and the YT rabbit hole, I cant find my swing. I went to another coach that teaches using rotation to swing and not the arms, very similar to you, then I found your channel again. Went to the range today and practiced releasing the tension from my arms and slowing things down. What I noticed is that my transition is MUCH more noticeable now, THEN the club comes through... if that makes sense. Before, I never really felt a transition in my swing. My best shots today were effortless and felt pretty slow but the result was fantastic. I think I know now what path to follow in my lessons and practice.

Golf is like throwing darts. U have to be easy in ur approach in order to be accurate. U don’t have to squeeze the club to death and hit homeruns. U weigh triple digits in pounds; club weighs about 1 pound; you’re moving it all with speed. F=ma. The ball weighs just over 1 oz. Putting the proper motion with body and club onto the ball...SMASHES it. I love ur videos. Ur channel is great. Thanks for these awsm tips 😎👍

Yes. You can also put weight on one spot and create consistent contact with that spot. I've tried doing the loose and relaxed approach, but it doesn't produce feel. I grip about 4-5 out of 10 and prefer the stack and tilt method. I literally have NO EFFORT in getting to the ball. It's all about BALL POSITION. If you can control that in your setup, you'll hit the ball great 99.9 percent of the time.

That is why I do not watch the Pros anymore. Almost all of them "looks like" they are trying to hit the ball so hard with their expensive clubs and expensive balls. Does not look effortless to me. Your swing is the one for me...a recreational golfer. I just want to make golf enjoyable. Of course, I need to put into practice your tips. But the results will be far better. Thanks Paul !! You are a great teacher 😎

Exactly. It's great for my business. Pros are doing that with body and arms. The easy looking ones are using more body less arms. Amateurs are using majority arms with little to no body.

Here is a tale long in the telling… Last year, I was diagnosed with arthritis in my hips, back and shoulders. Playing “arms only” golf is excruciating. Over the past few years, I have celebrated my birthday with a golf marathon (this year, 60 holes for 60 years). I barely made it through, and swore this would be my last year. Recently, I ran across your videos, but more importantly, your method. The full body swing has given me more power, actually helped increase my range of motion. The crucial element is: NO. PAIN. I thank you, and my charity thanks you, because there just might be a “61 for 61” next year!

Paul.. ive been playing golf for 2 months straight. im work as a door2door salesman, and my work starts at 14:00. So before that i go to the local golf club and practice 2-3 hours totally alone almost evry day. For maybe 6-7 weeks ive been hitting the ball, tightening my grip, turned my back so explosive because i wanted to hit that ball with my entire power. After watching ur videos late at night when i enjoy a occasianly joint, i sit and deep dive into these videos. For the last 2 weeks, i have not gotten a single blister (from my last grip) or have any backpain. I seriously already after 2 weeks hit the so much purer and with a slow technuiqe. I have lost maybe 3-4 balls on the 6 holes out here last 2 weeks. That is a MASSIVE progress. Im actually having a really good time when i play golf these days. Thanks for greeeat videos, and great talking, awsome to watch! best regards Norway

Wow! That's great. So glad you got the new hip. If you can't move them well you won't get the power as you well know. Over 200 is great. Most students maybe hit it 180 and they are in their late 60's early 70's. I want people using the looseness to generate the clubhead speed. Couple this with body rotation and you've got it. My line is "you don't have to be strong to be loose." So anyone should be able to hit the ball with some decent distance. If they aren't they are literally using physical strength and this will never work because as we get older we get weaker. So they will always loose more and more distance. Watch this one: kzfaq.info/get/bejne/h8V8ipqf0prXo58.html See how little I can put into it and get it to 100mph. For more I just fire the hips faster. You are doing well so I'm not sure if you want a little more or not but if so stay super loose in the wrists and keep firing those hips. Here are 2 drills you can do: kzfaq.info/get/bejne/icx5gJV4vNCdc6c.html kzfaq.info/get/bejne/nrCVdMZ2vsjamIE.html

@guiseppecapritto7577

i taught myself your theory in the 90`s and wow what a difference. i am a big belly boy lol, and always pulled and slice the ball then i did what you said back then and it was alittle bit different in going on my back swing it was a 3 piece back swing . take my stance set th the ball start a third the way with a slow almost stop position going into half swing the same way then finish the swing and take a half second stop then release with the effortless follow threw and it went stright everytime , i did not hit it 250 + yards but consistence i got more compliments then my friends trying to hit it 300 plus. the bonus thing i added to my game because i had my belly in the way i learned from this asain proshop man who told me to take a few swing so he can see and told me to set the 1/2 the distance back from center of club and do that 10 times in a row and this made it even striagther then the slower motion. I said wow and released my size was pulling me foward and shifted the contact of the ball amazing person!!!! i always take what the pros do and always twik it a little because let face we not pros were normal people with alot of disabilities that the pros dont have to worry about. so i enjoyed your video and had to tell you this because we all have to realize age and performance is not something that least forever but enjoy it while you can! Take care and thank you.

@paulwilsongolf

Glad you found me. The concept is simple. Your arms hinge and rehinge. To to this they need to be loose. There is not power in them so in no way are you trying to hit or help the shot with the arms. This is the arm unit. So work on hinging and rehinging until you rarely ever put slice spin on your shots. This is step one. Once you get that you move to step 2 which is powering the swing with your body. Your body coils then it uncoils. If the lower body starts first you will hit it dead straight. If you are new then start here: Body Swing Concept: kzfaq.info/get/bejne/e56pbM123r-XZZ8.html Grip: kzfaq.info/get/bejne/oLeKf9Npx6yRh6s.html Hinge Rehinge: kzfaq.info/get/bejne/bMCVh9SU35jUnXk.html Alginment: kzfaq.info/get/bejne/jKyKlpOI1picYp8.html Secure Grip: kzfaq.info/get/bejne/kJ57ZqqU2dHeZ3U.html Best Drill: kzfaq.info/get/bejne/mbyYp69eyZemaY0.html Power the swing with the legs and hip not the hands and arms. Paul won't say this but I will: all of this demanding of "free" stuff from the Internet is unsustainable. Isn't it enough that Paul has provided so many free instructional videos ... with the hope that a minuscule percentage of KZfaq viewers will purchase some of his products ... or pay for lessons with him? Apparently not. Now Paul should go out and purchase a $25,000 TrackMan. I don't know Paul but I suspect that he's not getting rich from being a golf instructor. He's trying to make a living. So instead of asking Paul to purchase a TrackMan, how about buying some of his products? Most of you work for a living -- or once worked for a living. You didn't work for free. If Paul is helping you to become a better golfer, he deserves to be compensated for his time and expertise.

I so lock everything up. I so need to make the changes your suggesting. Legs and hips, easy ones. I did try this earlier today, with the lob wedge. Instead of hitting hard, I was trying to swing with the feet/hips and letting the arms swing loose and easy and wide. I’ll be damned, the ball was bouncing off the club face going further than I would expect. Less success with longer clubs like a 6 iron. Not up to top speed until I get used to this. I’ll keep at it. The longest hitter on the PGA Tour does not have a slow easy swing. As a matter of fact, Bryson DeChambeau almost comes out of his shoes he twists so fast. But if you watch his swing in slow motion, it reinforces everything Paul teaches. He fires almost brutally with his hips and if you watch his lead arm, it never gets out in front. His hips and body control the swing speed. Because of his youth and fitness, he can turn a slow easy swing into a tornado, but while doing so he uses every swing fundamental (hips, body, wrists) you see in this video. These are also what dictate not only his distance, but accuracy. It works for old, young, slow and fast. Brilliant stuff that has improved my game tremendously in the last 6 months.

Great feeling when you start to get it. It is simple. Just have to understand it and learn new feelings. Then do lots of practice swings. This is the easiest way to learn it.

I took your tips to the driving range today and after a bucket of balls it just stuck with me and i made some good straigt shots. However, being so happy about that fact (and making my hybrid work again) i didn’t stop for 2 hours straight. Once i hit the field to play the front nine, it all came apart. I guess i was too tired and couldn’t work the rotation and hips well enough. Some bright spots though and short game was on point. But as you’ve said it’ll take time and adjustment (i am an over the top and arms kind of player normally) and just having the effortless feeling for those two hours was great. Going out there again on wednesday. This time only gonna shoot a bucket to get the relaxed effortless feeling back and then go play. I’ve watched nearly every damn video on the golf swing and your videos really stand out and provided some fresh air in a much clouded technical world. Thanks!

Yes, don't wear yourself out plus your expectations were too high. Probably started coming out of it looking for these amazing shots you thought you were going to hit. Just keep working on it. When you play just look for some amazing shots. This is what is coming if you keep working on it.

Paul Wilson Golf Absolutely correct, i am impatient by nature :) However! I saw that your approach worked wonders for me in that short timeframe already on the first try, so i am going to go at it with more patience and know it’ll work out. Also found out that our local pro teaches the same fundamentals as you, hinge, hips and all. Man, that sweet sweet sound of the hybrid connecting with the golf ball dead on and shooting it 175-200 meters (european here) with hardly any effort was brilliant.

Thanks so much for your easy clear presentation of your golf method. I originally found your youtube channel about three years ago and was convinced right away that it would help my very weak game. However, I was not able to touch my left knee with my right and dove into the wilderness of youtube golf instruction. Then after completely loosing my ability to hit a ball I came back about a week ago and started to listen to your new videos and was hooked. The result was the best 9 hole score of my golf live of over 55 years. Thanks again.

Paul, at the driving range yesterday I was using your swing lesson. I was hitting drive after drive with what felt to me was an effortless swing. I could not believe how easy it was. The real kicker though, was not only was the distance good, but the accuracy was great. The last time I checked, the easiest way to lower your score is to hit the ball accurately. Plus, this is an extremely back friendly swing. I ought to know because I had major back surgery, and with this swing I come home feeling really good. Thanks for the swing lessons. Keep up the good work.

And people wonder why I teach this or they doubt me. So glad you tried it and are seeing the results. All I am trying to get people to do is try a different way to hit the ball. Not just for 3 balls though and quit. You need to give it a bucket. Once you see it (as you are) they you know you can do it and want to do it forever. Keep up the good work. Many years of great pain-free golf in your future.

This is the only video to watch if you're struggling with your swing. Especially if you're struggling with your driver. I'm a single digit handicap who fell into some bad habits of trying to hit the ball further. And like a lot of others searching for distance, I was trying to swing faster with my hands/arms. This video grounded me immediately and took me right back to the basics. My first round out after watching this video was extremely encouraging. I'm back to effortless power and renewed confidence on the tee box.

Wow! Blast from the past. Great to hear from you. Glad you are retired and taking it easy. I was literally just thinking it about those days this morning as as I was making coffee seeing how fast I could get everything ready and into the coffee maker. So glad you like the tips. Simple is the key. Too many people making this way too complicated. The big part is not hitting with the arms but instead using the legs and hips as the power source. This is different but once you get it the whole game changes. Please keep working on it and post questions if you are having any issues. All the best.

Man I'm finally putting this all together. I was just practicing in my room with a shaft with grip but no clubhead. As I was swinging it using your instruction I accidentally hit my small plastic waste basket with a little trash in it (meaning it is much heavier than a golf ball) and it went boucing around like I hit it with a hammer. After putting the basket back I got thinking about the facts. A bare shaft (no clubhead) hitting a much heavier (than a golf ball) object and was amazed how much it made it jump. Then thought about a clubhead hitting ball relationship and can imagine the impact effect. I cant wait to be able to get outside to hit some balls. Thank you Paul!

This is the most valuable gold lesson on you tube. I still struggle out on the course, but now I'm at least having fun. It's much like a wrecking ball. If a wrecking ball operator starts ramming and jerking the controls, nothing will be destroyed. Using gravity and natural motions destroys anything in its path. Thank you sir for helping me truly enjoy golf...

50 years old and struggled with my swing for at least last 10 years. Injured my hamstring 3weeks ago, but had to finally play again yesterday, even though I'm still sore. I wanted to take it easy. I watched this video and went out on league night. No range work. I was "finally" hitting the ball so pure again. Irons felt amazing. 3 and 5 wood felt great too. Need to work on this with my driver but I was so happy to finally hit good irons. It was the most fun I had golfing in a long time. Thank you so much

Mr. Wilson, you are amazing! I knew about turning the hips to get more distance but I was actually coming down on the ball (not as hard as before) and then throwing in a bit of hip rotation for good measure just before impact. Amazingly enough, it was paying off and was hitting it straight and further than before. BUT NOW, after this video, it was like an epiphany. What I gathered from here was to start the downswing with the hips and release the club at impact. You 'da Man!

@paulwilsongolf 3 жыл бұрын
Exactly. I am not paddy caking it. I hit the top and fire hard and quick right away. Your body moves slow so it appears that I am putting nothing into it but if I am hitting it my normal distances I am firing about 80%. Now you know how to do it ... keep doing it.

Hi Paul, I was on the verge of giving up. Like forever. After the worst round you could ever even dare to imagine. I seen this video and it made a lot of sense but so have hundreds of others that I’ve tried and no success for me. However, today (the day after the worst golf day ever when confidence was at an all time low) a light grip, easy swing, smooth, swing from the legs and the hips and wow. I can allow the weight of the club head to pitch the ball whereas I normally skull or fat, I driven the ball well (taken one or two to get rid of the fade as I normally draw the ball) it was unreal. Effortless as you say! I hope to god I can keep what I felt and learnt today as I had two bad swings today and I knew straight away why. My arms got ahead of the body and were too fast and active... thank you

Glad you didn't give up. I have literally taught hundreds of you in my now 30 years. No need to give up. This is so simple. You finally figured out you shouldn't be hitting then you tried it for more than 3 balls and gave up on it. Now you know it works amazingly well. You need to keep doing it. Now, as you hit more and more good ones you will get excited. This will lead to the arms creeping in and you losing it again. As soon as you hit thin, topped, fat or sliced shots immediately go down to 50%. Get it back. Then speed it up with the legs and hips NOT the arms. Watch: kzfaq.info/get/bejne/mbSYfNyZzpeXZnk.html

Paul, I was out at the range this morning, starting hitting balls pretty good, because I want to check out my new grips, my accuracy increased immensely, but I caught myself trying to smack the ball, so I was thinking of this video, and told myself out loud slow it down..and not to my amazement, got another 25-50yards..yes it is very difficult to recondition your muscle memory and previous swing out of your mind, I've been away from golf for 25 yrs, In 62 and yes I don't have the distance I once had, hard to accept that but it is what it is unless I recondition my mind for a slower approach to the swing, my consistency has never been good, but I've never taken any drills or lessons, I like the fact that you can give a true representation of what your body should be feeling, no one else does that, you're easy to relate to and aspire me to go through daily drills..My hardest thing to be consistent about is keeping on the same plain when sticking the ball, obviously drills will probably tune that in better..With your instructions I'm able to see the ball better rather than lose it on back swing do to thinking overload...

I like the fact you remembered my tip while on the range. Good job. Even better is that you tried and and saw how amazing it is. I have taught many people in your situation who took a break and are getting back into it. Anyone in this situation will hit with their arms. This is due to human nature. Yes, you need to resist the urge to hit it hard. Right when I was getting it I would just tell myself "You're not Tiger Woods be yourself." Once I realize this I wouldn't swing out of my shoes. As you start hitting almost every fairway you start hitting it longer and longer with a feeling of nothing. Glad you are trying it. Do this: kzfaq.info/get/bejne/gqeVndl1x93DkXU.html Do these 2 drills daily and in a month you will be hitting it longer than you can imagine: kzfaq.info/get/bejne/icx5gJV4vNCdc6c.html kzfaq.info/get/bejne/nrCVdMZ2vsjamIE.html
