My Dad loved Italian opera and was a huge fan of Beniamino Gigli but even he told me that Pavarotti was the greatest.

Caruso is the best. Pavarotti is a leggero, Calaf was not suited for him. Corelli and Del Monaco are the giants in this role.

My Dad, who loved opera, was a great fan of Beniamo Gigli but when Pavarotti came on the scene he told me that Luciano was the best ever.

Pavarotti at the peak of his career. The greatest operatic tenor EVER! We will never see his like again! His "instrument" as he called his voice was God-given and will never, ever be equaled.

Yes, there are tears. He once said in an enterview, that he was not a great actor, about his body, but his face (besides, of course his voice) could tell everything. A master.

Here, the master is in absolute command of his magnificent voice. Pavarotti was not a saint, and this movie touched on his real life. But I believe his gift was God-given!

With the last note, he doesn't take a breath! Absolutely incredible! He did say Joan Sutherland taught him about the strong diaphragm and breathing. She was magnificent with holding those high notes. What a gift artists like this were to this earth.

Vous parler de l immense ténor et éternel Pavarotti inégalable et irremplaçable. Mais la musique de cet aria est tout simplement intemporelle exceptionnelle c est mon aria préféré de tout me répertoire italien tout compositeur confondu. A chaque fois que je l écoute c est une émotion inexplicable. Seul Pavarotti l’interprète à la perfection. Cette chanson a été écrite par Mr PUCCINI pour lui…..

Claire this clip is from a movie "Yes, Giorgio" It's a must see if you like Pavarotti. He sings quite a bit, some italian folk songs and some opera. The woman has nothing to do with the opera. His character is having an affair with the blonde. I bought the movie on Amazon. I highly recommend it.

Pavarotti,ha grabado Turandot que yo sepa 2 veces, de forma maravillosa y canta Nessun Dorma en estadios con micrófono, pero nunca lo ha hecho en un escenario donde no hay micrófonos ni efectos especiales. Esto es de la película "Yes Giorgio" . Nadie ha cantado Turandot como Corelli.

Seen this version a few locations. I cannot believe that anyone ever could have done a better version. When Luciano was young just his vibrato was the highest ever. Never heard better. Never will. Not me going deaf.....just his stunning talent. 80 if you were still alive. Wish you were if not something cruel like pancreatic adenocarinoma.... that was the one wasn't it Luciano? Anyway, you will be admired and remembered a very long time based on your talent.

@Margaret Gust Neither Kaufmann or Potts are opera singers. They are phoneys with bad techniques. Pav's technique is great, but Martinelli, Del Monaco and Corelli especially own this role.
