The pianist was a pedophile who preyed on prepubescent boys. This was common knowledge since at least 1980--- I knew in in the 1980s, 3000 miles away. The Met was perfectly aware of the problem but covered it up for decades. No aspersion on Pavarotti intended here

Pavarotti's singing isn't just an interpretation. He became a legend for about 4 decades because he, literally symbolizes the spirit of Italy. As for James Levine,he was a prodigy, a pianist & conductor praised by von Karajan & sir Georg Solti.Unfortunately a scandal, well hidden for some years,broke out and forced him to retire from the MET Opera after 35 years of career!

El gran Pavarotti y su inolvidable voz... La primera vez que supe de esta canción fue en una novela. Los protagonistas la cantaban y se reproducía la letra en italiano. Hasta ahora no conocía la música. Es muy hermosa y romántica. La novela en cuestión se titulaba "Alba Grey", de la, autora española Elisabeth Mulder. Fue publicada en 1947 y una buena parte transcurría en Italia.

Todo es perfecto. Su voz ya madura, cristalina, franca, llena de color y matices; el ritmo ágil al que lleva esta maravillosa canción de TOSTI, la presencia en el escenario…. Y un acompañamiento magistral de James Levin. La armonía en una muy bella estética. Inmortal!

Ningún tenor es capaz de vocalizar como lo hacía él. Dominaba de forma sublime su rango, el color de su voz es inolvidable. Da igual que no sea el mejor, que no se le den bien las lenguas, que apenas sepa solfeo. Su voz es la más bella que he escuchado, y eso es lo que importa.

Alex Ríos efectivamente la más bella y para las canciones napolitstas y algunas óperas como la boheme era el mejor. Pero en la ópera no es todo tener una voz bella. Hay q saber adaptarse a las características de cada composición y en eso pavarotti fallaba. Su canto era anárquico y lo cantaba casi todo igual.
