The GT lower kit comes with replacement bolts, and we are currently using readily available bolts. Future versions may have custom bolts that better fit the GT rails. The current bolts may get scraped up if your board falls on its side, and you need to be mindful to keep them centered during install.
This pre-order also will not come with any special packaging. Future versions will likely have sexier packaging.

Your GT is by far the best GT board I have ridden. The lower kit made such a huge freaking difference in my control of the board as well as feeling comfortable. Thanks for letting me ride it when you came out here!

Thanks for the honest review of your own design. I think this could pair well with a different front bumper that isn’t so thick. There’s really no reason for it to be as thick as it is, and opening up some clearance could reduce or eliminate these issues.

I have had mine on for a few days. And it's really good. I have experienced zero downsides. And the ride feels better in every scenario.

I got to ride this board around in front of the float factory for a couple minutes. It had the Lowering kit and the enduro. It felt so good that I’m actually considering buying a GT. Way more stable and waaaay smoother.

At least on the XR, the half inch lower is subtle but makes a huge difference for stability. So I can definitely see it being a game changer for the GT. One of those things you can only get when you finally try it for yourself

A half inch is huge. Even 1/4” is noticeable. I just didn’t go any smaller because it would make part of it really thin and weaker

This is a great idea. I used to have an XR, and the one thing I hated about it the most was the high center of gravity.

Outstanding and honest review. I'm not a speedy rider, I don't do a lot of steep and gnarly trail riding, so having the board lowered for stability is directly in my wheelhouse. I can't wait for them to come out, along with the GT B.A.N.G. Bumpers with the thinner front side to negate some of that clearance loss.

Mm yes for gnarly downhill trails you do want clearance. I think you’ll like TFL rails and bangs for GT a lot!

Hey, Jake. From the reviews on your site of the Half & Half kit it looks like some folks are having issues with the motor cable and with tire rub after installing this kit; both possibly related to slight variations in tolerances in different GT boards. Can you speak to these issues?

Preordered immediately. Gonna have onestop board shop install this with my enduro at the same time. Soooo excited to fix the GT some. These new riders who don't have several thousand miles on an XR just don't understand.....

@@JakeLeary philly. Onestops a 2 hr drive for me. Brian Dennis and Junior are awesome and the service there is top notch. Just wish the bearing replacements were cheaper. They put the cbxr and Enduro on my XR a week ago and the board runs like a dream right now

I've always envied how many customization options are available for the XR, so seeing mods come out for the GT is awesome. Pre-ordered this and the Enduro. Thanks, Jake! How long would you say it takes to install?

Ohh I’m actually not sure what Samuel recorded in, but I would believe that. For my iPhone shots I record at 60 but sometimes export at 30

Really appreciate you getting these out! One question, how hard/long is it to put these on and off? I ride pavement 90%, but I also do about 10% hilly trail riding on the weekends which is my best time on a OW. Would it be a pain to take these off on the weekend and put them back on during the week?

It’s gonna take 20 minutes each time if you’ve got the right tools and working at a bench, definitely gonna be a pain. You have to take one rail off. I’ve been riding on some hilly trails but your bumpers are more likely to scrape

@@JakeLeary cool. I was considering buying titanium GT hub bolts but don't want to waste the $ if they won't work with your lower kit. Can you tell if they would work? They're the exact same size as stock just made with titanium. Thanks!

Awesome video! Crazy up the stairs bonks! So I went GTR with the 11” Hoosier treaded. If I’m understanding things correctly I would be at pint x ride height if I used this kit right? What difference in the physics regarding rideability does what I have going compared to an 11.5” tire lowered to 11” ride height with this kit provide?

11 and 11.5 are just nominal, they’re not actual measurements. They could be exactly the same depending on the brand. But yeah you should be close to Pint X ride height. And even if the 11.5 is the exact measurement the difference is gonna be half that (1/4”) for ride height compared to 11”

Jake - Hi. Followed the lower kit install video steps as demonstrated--(I think), but I am getting a lot of play/wiggle between the outer bolts and the rails when riding--(e.g. very noticeable rattle with a quick forward/backward movement). Installed, the kit feels very sketchy, which I am sure is not correct. Any idea what could be wrong? Thanks.

You should not be getting any wiggling when riding. Is there something preventing you from getting the outer bolts tight?? And you’re sure it’s the outer bolts that are loose? It would help if you could send photos or video to Jake at thebiketruck dot com

You can get screws that are 1/2” longer and four 1/2” spacers, and something waterproof to block the gaps between the footpads. Maybe we will offer this one day as a product

Theoretically it should a little bit. The stock axle blocks are completely contained inside the rails which are powder coated

Oh man, as a faster rider I'll have to pass on these, great vid tho. I hope that battery tech in the next few years gets to the point where FM can get the next board back to a more XR like form factor, wish those rails were a bit thinner

Too bad the OW doesn't have a e-skateboard remote option to accelerate and brake to avoid tilting the board completely.
