Great book and Blanche’s writing is worth more! She helped Clyde because she loved and married his brother...she was on the run with Bonnie and Clyde while they committed crimes and lost her eye in a shootout when her husband died.

Rick said Bonnie and Clyde never wrote anything, however Bonnie wrote a poem "The Story Of Bonnie & Clyde" and it was published in newspapers before their deaths. It was even in the 1967 film, Rick.Sheesh! And why did they have to call in Rick's handwriting expert when the seller told Rick that photos of some of Blanche's manuscript appear in the book?! Was it so the "expert" could lowball the item?

Wow i saw this in a bonnie and clyde documentary. The previous owner was a friend of Blanch herself. I didnt know she ended up selling it. She wrote this right after the shoot out with towns people when the gang was held up in the woods. Her husband was shot while bonnie and Clyde kept running. She stayed behind with her husband when she was caught and started writing the manuscript. Its a really amazing piece i would buy it in a heart beat. In the manuscript it talks about how clyde was raped in prison and his first official kill was the man who raped him. He talked another prisoner into taking the fall for the murder. The crime spree started once he got out.

Rick: So what'cha got here? Seller: I've got the fountain of youth. Rick: How much ya want for it? Seller: $1,000 Rick: *sigh* Best I can do is $1. No one's ever sold one of these, it's a rare one of a kind item, therefore it's difficult to gauge its value. The most I'll go is $1.50, I'm taking a big risk here.

@DanglingDingleBerry
@DanglingDingleBerry 6 жыл бұрын
He's a fraud. He was a fucking radio DJ or something before he decided to become a "handwriting expert". He went to college for communications or something but dropped out after one semester. He has no formal training AT ALL in handwriting analysis, and the guy who "taught him everything he knows" about authenticating signatures has done jail time for fraud for selling forged autographs through his online business. This fatso is the THIRD "handwriting expert" they have had on this show and ALL of them have been outed as frauds. I have no idea why they continue to use him because him being a fraud is NOT some kind of secret, ESPECIALLY in the world of autograph authentication.

Glad he didn't sell it. It was really lowballed, first person hand written account of Bonnie and Clyde. It would be a real prize for any crime museum. It's better than the book as they even mentioned how they "cleaned it up" for print, no telling what was removed or what can be learned from her "errors".

Hi there - this is Robert, the owner of the Blanche Barrow manuscript and the guy who appeared in this segment. I can tell you in total honesty that the negotiation was not rigged. They did know my offer price prior to the show, of course. But I didn't know what they were going to counter-offer, and they didn't know how I would respond. I decided in the moment that I wasn't going to sell. Anyway, just some insight - hope you all enjoyed the segment, thanks for watching - Robert Vogt

I don't want Rick's thinking but this guy's credentials don't stand up to who he says I wouldn't trust him in appraising my dog's foot prints.

I'm starting to notice and understand why the prices are so low on some of these historical items. A lot of their authentication people are estimating the price off of what they think would be an attractable price for buyers that might want to buy these items at the shop. If these people want to get more out of rare history items like this one their best bet is to try their luck out at an auction. It's obvious most of these people just want to be on TV. But if it was me I would get the item appraised and then try their luck out at an auction if they really want to sell it.

I would think the original Blanche Barrow manuscript would be worth a lot more than that. None of these guys seems really to grasp her historical significance.
Be kind🤝
