I don’t think you know how a pawn shop works. If he gives the dude $80,000 and sells it for $80,000, he makes no money. However, if he pays $50,000 for it and sells it for $80,000, he makes $30,000. That’s why they offer less. Every pawn shop or reseller will do this

He said it was a storm trooper prop. Even screen used they has A LOT of stand in storm troopers. This was not a hero prop so way way less detail. This prop needed to look convincing for a few seconds of screen time at a distance and/or while the person carrying it was moving. By Episode VI the hero blasters actually fired .22 caliber blanks and in the non remastered version in one scene where Lando is shooting you can see the spent cartridges being ejected. That prop would be an $80,000 prop on its own if not more.
@trevtheartist4694
@trevtheartist4694 6 жыл бұрын
Jake Fejer it's probably a stunt blaster made with rubber for troopers who have to fall down or get blown up. You don't want the actor getting hurt holding a metal blaster pluses it could break a metal blaster which would take longer to make then a rubber mold.

zzmax23 However, on July 16, 2014, Star Wars author and historian Jonathan W. Rinzler stated in a Reddit AMA that Lucas has said that Boba also survived the sarlacc in the new canon,[34] though this has yet to appear in official new canon media. starwars.wikia.com/wiki/Boba_Fett Edit: George Lucas wanted screen time of him surviving the Salic-pit. But, he couldn't fit it in for the remainder of the film. Also, in *LEGENDS* (Keep in mind, these are *Tales / Stories* of what happen, between or after the films). He was alive for decades! Where have you been? *DISNAY* discontinue legends sadly...

Scripted/show or not, like, if you're running a pawn shop as big as the man actually does (I don't care how distant he is from the actual real brick-and-mortar operation or not) then you will know a lot of people called appraisers who are usually specialized in certain areas. The guitar guy, the pop culture guy, the retro electronics guy, idk, you name it. Like, it's a real thing, I know people who own actual pawn shops that are not on TV and they routinely call in specialists to evaluate items. It's never done like, that quickly though. And it oftentimes doesn't even require a trip to the store. There's never any celebrity guest appearances. But for valuable items absolutely an expert's opinion is very valuable. Most pawn business doesn't revolve around top-notch valuables like that though besides jewelry maybe.

I think the most value will be when they actually stop making the movies. When collectors know that there won't be another sequel, they'll have to pay extra because there won't be anymore movies to get memorabilia from, so the demand goes up for the old items. Plus, if you have items from the original cast members, those are worth a fortune because a lot of people hate the new movies and don't like the characters.

Thank god for favreau and filoni, literally our only hope to save Star Wars from Kathleen Kennedy and her “woke” agenda. The stuff got authenticated on camera, so like... and there are explanations for why some of the items aren't as detailed as you would think in threads on this video. Basically unless the Storm Trooper who was holding it was one of the ones who was prominently featured in a shot then he'll get what's called a "Hero Prop" vs. just a standard Stand-in or Extra prop (which were more common and were less detailed). I mean we're talking like maybe 5% of them were hero props the rest were held by the other hundreds of extras playing stormtroopers in the films.

+Omega742000 Why? Think of it this way, I'm doing this with my authentic Stan Lee autograph - I'm keeping hold of it so it's a collectors piece and when the time does come and Stan Lee does pass away, that autograph which is authentic as I said before, will be worth a shit ton of money. If I sold it now, I'd regret it when he does pass away because someone else will be like "Well I paid so much for this...now it's worth this, this is the best day of my life!". I would have kept hold on all of it which I bet he would have done, then sold it off at auction or even on eBay auction with a reserve price of that amount - $80k and see people bid more once the said prop maker has passed on.
