Jason Michael Coz they've probably paid more ( or probably they're just breakeven ) than the price being offered to them. In that case you can't blame the seller(s) if they're quite unsatisfied. ( Ik that no seller can expect a retail price of their item in a pawn shop ).
@hern7209

@@jasonmichael3676 but Rick was trying to buy it for 2.5k saying there was a supply and demand like he couldn't pay commercial price cause he had to re-sell it for more, when after he bought it, was just gonna pay what he got it for, not commercial price. Good thing big hoss was there to make sure he paid commerical price and not just got the book for 1.5k less than what it would go for basically😂 see my point?

Their experts will probably slightly undervalue the item to be on the safe side. They can't give accurate numbers because it's only worth what someone is willing to pay. The book maybe worth $6,000, but the shop lists it for $7,000 to see if it sells. Better to start higher than lower.

Rebecca said the book was worth 3,000-3,500 yet the old man later says they can sell it for 6,000-7,000 🤔🤨

It’s called business. People go looking for them. You people know NOTHING about business and how it works. Educate yourself before buying. Simple,

That's the price to expect selling it to people who know what the market for it is, like at an auction. There's no harm in asking for a lot more in the shop just in case someone with more money than sense comes in and buys it at the sticker price. Pawn shops are based on screwing people over as much as they can, not selling things at a fair price.

Wow. It’s so incredible that such an old book, even with the work done on it, can be worth such a low amount. Obviously the work has reduced the value, but all the things that book has been through, everything it’s seen, all of its history and it’s worth less than when the guy bought it. It’s such a shame in a way.

Old man had this business trick of immediately downgrading the items that came in like in the beginning of this video. Sometimes he would stand next to Corey or Rick and go "I wouldn't even offer that much" when they'd make an offer. Btw these guys are talking about 'what this book survived' for well over 500 years yet handling it with their bare hands smh.

It's interesting that the 19th century work didn't totally wreck the book's value. I guess since it was nicely done and only an expert would know they wouldn't have used black in the 1400s is the reason.
