Because it’s clear from the beginning that everything would end up favoring the woman with all the evidence provided, so the woman need not to make any alterations so it won’t be as if the judge wants to pity her, that’s why she was shut to give the judge the chance to explain in details to the man how he has been handicapped by the law in all jurisdictions

@@chiomafloraitah5003he did not want the marriage that's why he refused to show up in any of the several court and palace meeting. He wanted to suffer the woman and thought that he could do so by not give her a divorce. The judge wanted to vary the order and helped him but he was clearly there to create more problem so she simply reinforce the original order. Whether you has 750 salary or not you go pay the 30 thousand. A court made an order concerning you and you are aware about it and you say you have not seen it and don't know anything about for over a year because you want to bondage by keep on denying that you are divorced. He is clearly heading for jail if he refuse to pay. The matter will not be in the hands of the woman so no one will blame her, it is in the hands of the court.

I could tell from the beginning that this man was lying. His story was inconsistent and full of ad hominem instead of rebutting all the accusations levelled against him - hacked his wife's Facebook, impersonated her and requested for another man's nudes just so he would accuse her of cheating, beat her up almost to the point of death, disregarded every attempt by their families and respective communities to sort his marital issues, showed contempt of court, abandoned his minor children at a junction, abdicated his responsibilities to provide for them as a father and still got to walk away scot free. He wanted to frustrate the lady by holding onto the fact that the bride price was not returned, while at the same time making it impossible for the marriage to be conclusively dissolved. Which responsible man drops his kids at a junction and asks them to find their way home under the guise of not being able to reach their mother, when he could have returned them right where he picked them up? He could not afford to be in court physically but wants the world to believe he will have time and money to take care of the kids. He has no respect for law and order that's why he felt he could ignore the court proceedings he was duly notified of without consequence. He should have been ordered to pay all arrears of the upkeep he had not been paying from the date the customary court judgment was delivered until this case was filed. He is lucky to have been asked to pay only 30k for three children (10k per child; covering education, shelter, clothing, feeding, medical care and fun treats that every child should have) and he's frothing in the mouth talmabout I want to be seeing my children. If they leave them for him now, in 2 years they won't be recognizable cause he'll use their eyes to see shege.

Don't you know that responsibility fulfilment most times is a by-product of income earned? Sometimes, when we are talking, we should activate our thinking caps. It will do us lot's of good.

How does imprisonment make sense… if you want a man to be responsible for his children, why take off his livelihood by imprisonment? If truly the court cares about the children why imprisonment of the primary provider…the law is pretentious and counterintuitive.

Nah. You expect the judge to kneel and beg him? Who is supposed to pay for his kids? Nigeria is not a welfare state, so why should he burden his wife with sole financial responsibility for the kids for over one year and ignore a court order. His ignoring the Court Order is akin to his treating his wife like a doormat - and the court won't have that - is the reason he will be going to jail if he refuses to obey the Court that dissolved the marriage and ordered maintenance for the children. If he wanted to have a say in the monthly maintenance for the kids, he shouldn't have arrogantly ignored the Ìgandò Court 'invitations'. He must now obey those orders - pay up the arrears - and continue to pay until any application of his to vary the maintenance amount will be heard. Or go get his wings clipped in jail. Judge in Ireland last month told a man to pay up or come to the next hearing with his bags packed. Guy is living in a 5-bedroom alone while his wife and kids had to move into a vermin-infested apartment and he was telling the judge he couldn't afford some €1500 a month that was assessed on his income - and maybe assets pending marriage dissolution. To beg a man to provide for his kids is ridiculous.
