Went through this process with a e39 m52 harnas into my e30 with MaxxECU, I really underestimated the amount of time and learning it would take. Excellent video, very relatable

That’s cool bro me and my cousin did the ms43 on e36 harness I didn’t know ms45.1 had wideband reading we went with the ms43 because it seamed easier and we read that there wasn’t that much support for the ms45 nice to know now

MS43 is prolly the best way to go at the moment. It's so well known and documented, there's different patches for it and it's rather easy to tune. And it also works with 8hp using CANTCU. MS45, even though you can now tune it, everything is bit unkown with it. But I'm willing to take it as a challenge. If it doesn't work out, I can still use ms43 as backup plan.

Was 10+ years ago I made my wire-whip for my then volvo 940 T5.. its time consuming, but quite enjoyable 😁

wow. This is extremely interesting to me. I have been away from the discord for a while and I didn't even know MS45 was a feasible option... Wideband + 6HP is quite compelling.

Well I don't know if it's actually viable option for many 😅 It's much harder to tune than MS43. And if you wish to use the CAN protocol that 6HP understands, you need to have car that doesn't originally have CAN bus at all. Because for example in E46/E39 there is many modules connected to the CAN bus. And all those work only with the older protocol.

That will come later. It goes through CAN bus in e39/e46. And you can make it work in E36, using Z3 instrument cluster from car that had M52TU/M54. And wire the AC to the cluster. But I will use the newer CAN protocol, so that is not an option.

Those ignition coils are common in Italian or French cars too, not so long lasting coil that the old m50 or m52 had 😃

Yeah, not so durable as the old ones. But so cheap that I don't see problem replacing those every 10 years or so.

Well on my e36 it works without a problem, because ECU doesn't talk with it. In example e46 is also no problem, because ms45.1 came in it. You just can't use the newer can protocol in it.

Hi, One question.. Is it OK to machine m54b30 crankshaft for -0.25mm and put ACL race bearings? Does it need hitriding again or its ok? Its in turbo motor in m50 block (around 650hp). Thank you!

It's ok. I don't think nitriding is needed. The hardening is deep enough.

Moro! Tuli tämmöisestä johtosarjan väsäyksestä mieleen että mitä eroa on e36 M52 ja e39 M52 moottorin johtosarjoilla ja onko vaikka e39 johtosarjasta mahdollista rakentaa johtosarjaa kolmekutoseen?😅 +Sulla kyllä hyviä videoita noiden moottorien rakentamisesta!

Kiitoksia! Onhan niillä toki eroa, mutta ihan tehtävissä. Suurin ero on, että korin liitin on e39:ssä siellä ecun vieressä vänkärin puolella, eikä kuskin puolella, niinkuin e36:ssa. Oon minä muutamia noita e39 johtosarjoja tehny e30:iin ja se nyt ei hirveästi eroa e36:sta.

@@pazi88 Okei! Mites nuo pinnit muuten noissa onko sulla niistä kokemusta että onks diagrammien kanssa paljonkin eroja? Oli tosa suunnitelmana vaihdattaa moottoria mutta tällä hetkellä aikalailla täysin hukassa sen kanssa😅

hi there, would i be correct in saying the ms45 ecus can't really be 'tuned' like the ms43 variants? i have an early model e60 530i (ms45.0 ecu) and much to my surprise (and disappointment) i was told the ecu is limited in what can be tweaked with.. =(

@@pazi88 tällaiset löytyy nurkista. ylimääräinen kone ja kori. ja aina hyvä olla joku ikuisuusprojekti. :) koneen liittäminen e46:n korisähköihin on se ongelma, muuten kaikki johdot on tallessa.
