Overall, a very nice, well-rounded knife collection. There are a few pieces in your collection that I would not mind having for myself. I also had one of those mTech trail master knockoffs. It was quite a solid knife until I ultimately snapped the tip-off about an inch down the blade. I later fixed it up and customized it and gave it to a friend. It currently hangs on his wall in his apartment. Good video enjoyed watching.
@peterbiltknifeguy7 ай бұрын
Thanks. How did you snap the blade?
@5T3V3N-ns9gg7 ай бұрын
@@peterbiltknifeguy I snapped the blade via my own foolish choice to hammer it into a solid wooden stump and then bend it back-and-forth in an attempt to see what it could take. But before I did that, it stood up to anything I could throw at it.

I too love Ontario knives. Best value knives in my opinion. Don't really mind their sheaths, eapecially the older ones that are leather/cordura. They are thin and they work. The SP6 might be a "one blade" option as it's a supreme stabber, mine the older 1095 stamped double edge and that SP10 and SP5. The SP49 and SP51 are very nice as well. I'm kind of suprised you don't have any of the Ontario RD's. Thick and sharp! And I put on the TKC orange G10 scales on all of mine. If you ever consider one, the Buck 650 Nighthawk would be a good addition. It is indestructible and basically a 1/4" version of the SP6 with the benefit of using it around fresh or salt water. I just scored an Ontario ASEK as I've always liked the concept of a mutli-tool knife and they are easily concealable in a coat pocket (my 499 fits comfortably in my soft shell coat chest pocket). Nice collection. It is addictive.

Nice collection. It's interesting to see what other people have in their box of knives. Us Canadians buy and use American made knives. It would be cool if you would try one of ours. The Canadian belt knife by Cold Steel. It's only a few dollars try it out one day. It won a design award and it's in your Smithsonian Institute.

@@peterbiltknifeguy It's not a beater or a super steel, more for food prep, game etc. I use it everyday in the kitchen even though I have other knives I always go back to this little cheap one. Awesome collection! Think you might be under estimating Boker’s 440c. If done correctly it should considerably out perform Buck’s 420hc. I haven’t tested my Boker Bowie but I have tested a Boker Titan folder in 440c and it far outperforms my 420hc blades...including my Buck Pathfinder.

Awesome knives mate. I’ve got a ‘moose chopper’. It’s a Nepalese made Bowie. It’s a chopping beast. It’s bitten me a few times. It weighs a kilo and behaves like an axe. I’d love to add an Esee Junglas to my collection. I don’t own an Esee yet and think that would be a decent start.😉👍🏼

The imperial frontier line was great stuff aside from some of the lockbacks that were made by Camillus, the frontier line knives were mostly made on retired Schrade tooling. They were a definite step up in quality from the standard Imperial knives. Those 80's Sharp brand knives were pretty decent stuff, the brand was owned by K-Mart and the knives were all made by Seizo Imai and Ichiro Hattori in Seki city Japan.
@peterbiltknifeguy Жыл бұрын
That’s awesome info. I didn’t know that
@TylerSnyder305 Жыл бұрын
@@peterbiltknifeguy if you can find the Sharp model 1000S or an identical knife just stamped HAND MADE ( officially a K-mart 1000S before they introduced the Sharp brand ) you'll love it. The knife is a rebranded Hattori H109, great high quality Loveless style hunter but they rarely go for under $100 unless they're beat up. I got mine in mint condition for a great deal a few months back, and it had the absolute sharpest factory edge I've ever experienced.
