Keep in mind motherboards older than 4th gen won't let u boot from nvme even if it shows up and installs os it will not let u boot from it.

How this is possible that alone adding up the PCI express to M.2 adapter? Unless your CPU fully supported and other protocols has been placed for PCI express alone , wouldn’t give the results you have been anticipated.

You can use a sata 2.5 inch ssd rather than using the pcie x16 slot bcz u can put a gpu there that would make ur pc much faster

Here is the detials one user posted I have also pinned the comment please have a look Thanks to subscriber Kuntal for letting us know the condition "only if u want to boot from nvme then u need the chipset support , other than that if u want to have extra nvme storage on old computers then there is no problem it will work just fine. U won't be able to use pci express storage device as a boot drive on older amd cpus (like am3 , fm2 boards) and on the intel side , m.2 support came from 4th gen intel but only high end h97 & z97 boards had support. Although many h97 boards don't have m.2 slot.. from 6th gen m.2 was standard on even low end h110 boards"

I have and old mobo (socket 1366) and i am trying to install windows 10 in expansion card with NVME M2 2TB. I received message that : "Windows cannot be installed to this disk. This computers hardware may not support booting to this disk. Ensure That the disk controller is enabled in the computers BIOS menu." Can i bypass this using WinNTsetup 5.2 or clover efi ?

As both models are older than 4th gen Intel system they both will work. Just make sure the bios of both motherboards is updated to the latest one

If you have m. 2 slot just directly use it why you want to use this adapter... If it's not working then sure you can use adapter method. I have same motherboard gigabyte b150 sniper and i use the nvme directly. Ha e you upgraded the bios .. my be latest bios supports direct m.2 port. Check msi support site

Dear brother. I have installed NVME with this adapter to PCIEx16. Motherboard is MSI B85M Gaming (4th gen intel core i3). from boot menu i can install windows in NVME, but after installation during restart it shows error and shows chose proper boot device. Then i entered into BIOS but can't find ssd in boot priority. in settings i tried to enable pcie as boot device but there's no option. pcie is showing for graphics card only and boot options are for sata ports. please help.

hope u have read the highlighted comment from kuntal Keep in mind motherboards older than 4th gen won't let u boot from nvme even if it shows up and installs os it will not let u boot from it.

i dont think you can use it and there is any adapter .. what you can do is head to the crucial website and get you pc scanned they will suggest compatible ssd for you get particular that one only

Hello Brother. I have assembled pc. It has a motherboard of gigabyte - GA-H97-D3H with M.2 slot in it. And I have purchased Crucial P5 Plus Nvme M.2 SSD after checking it on crucial website. but it is not able to boot after installing windows in it. Please give me a solution?? What to do??

Hi Surya Kiran , all you need to do is now you have to set the SSD as boot option in bios settings, set it's priority as no 1 in booting. You can check some videos on youtube. When it starts booting from SSD you can delete the os in hdd or format that disk or partition

@@light_sky the thing is it is not showing the ssd as boot option after every trial and changes i made in bios settings. Thats why asked this from you. I already searched alot of videos and did all changes in bios. But it is not showing the ssd to boot from.

Bhai .. mei nay NVME be lay lee.. pci adapter be lay leya.. laiken ab pci boot ki option hee nahee iss mei ... saray paisay zaya ho gayay.. apnay pori information dee hee nahee ... Dell 990 mei pci boot ki option hee nahee hai.. waisay agar kissay dosri ssd ya sata HDD mei windows install ki hai tu . drive nvme show hoti hai. laiken boot nahee hoti

Hi sir, I have a hp original pc model : i5-3570 that motherboard have PCIE slots ,, I want to know after installing with PCIE card with SSD, will it work to boot window 10 with it??? I saw few videos where persons said that few desktop pcs didnt support NVME SSD boot with PCIE slot.. please make a video about it or guide me regaridng this , i dont want to waste my money..

Hi taqueer... U can check your bios .. cpuz software will help you and the latest bios can be found on ho support website.. install hp support assistant it will upate your driver's bios and all. Then you can install the nvme ssd

@@light_sky Currently BIOS version installed is 2.7, I want to update it, I have download version 3.08 from HP official website and run the setup, after installing PC was restart and after restart when I checked the BIOS version it was same as previous 2.7 not 3.08 ,, why BIOS is not updating even I run the setup and it said BIOS is successfully installed...

@@light_sky HP support assistant shows no upgrade, so i download manually by my pc name from hp official,, Currently version is 2.05 date 2012 and updated version year is 2019. I am confused whether current bios version supports NVME Window boot or not..

yaar yeh thoda purana processor hai aap ek comment pinned kar rakha hai video pe usse padh lo and then decide sab pc pe nahin chalega .. otherwise u can just install once SATA SSD thats it

have you seen the highlighted comment just below the video, it is not supported in all motherboards. It is typically supported after i3 4th generation PCs

Yes it will support surely. Just make sure you have the latest bios on your motherboard. You can get it on gigabyte website

Sir thanks for the guidence mere pass ASUS : F2A85-M2 ka motherboard hai kya may same M.2 NVME ssd lga sakta hun and boot bhi kar sakta hun agar PCI slot k through lagata hun. Because manay bahut try kiya computer shops say voh kahtay ap SSD sata lagao ismay slot nahi hai ap motherboard hi change kar do Pls sir suggest kijiye best ans.. Thanks in advance... Nd agar
