America was a singularity even from before our revolution. Long live the Republic !

The rifling in British Brown Bess's never existed, therefore the rifling was never "shot out".

Wow, very surprised to hear that 14% of all British officers who fell during the war did so at Bunker Hill. Also, I didn’t realize that the long rifle was so present during the battle. I thought the Long Rifle’s greatest contribution to the war was during the Saratoga campaign.

An American longrifle couldn't shoot 4 times a minute. The British regulars could go a long way in 15 seconds. Since the longrifle didn't have a bayonet Americans using longrifles were forced to run away after the first round or two. The American regulars used smoothbore French muskets with bayonets so they could stand and fight.

My appologies to the Curator, but he needs to do his research. However, he does one of the best presentations I've ever hear encapselating nearly every unfounded, though popular, myth regarding early rifle development & use.

What parts were incorrect, and how? Everything he said was true. It may not have been applicable to every single engagement. But it was true about the specific instances that he mentioned

@@kevinmarrett9532 Where do I begin? Minute 1:01... On the Jager rifle "It is unique in terms that it has a rifles barrel." NO! Rifled barrels have existed since the 1400s. NEXT? It goes on and on like this... all well-meaning, no doubt.
