Watching this back I realised I didn't mention how I ended up with the geometry I did after last week's exploration into optimization! I basically followed the line of thought that I mentioned in last week's stream: the sim clearly showed that we want the platform node pairs to be as close to each other as possible, and I ended up choosing a 200 mm platform radius to give us plenty of workspace and angular controllability. This radius could probably be optimized more, but this should be good enough 🤞

even if you can't see 50 tabs at once, you can put tabs in folders! i wholeheartedly recommend combining everything into one document

This is a possibility, though I'm not a huge fan of tab folders; having to click in and out of them is a little tedious... Though admittedly that'd a lot less annoying than having to version everything for the main assembly! I think you're right; when I have a chance I'll consolidate everything into a single document 😊

For 3mf exports: set your browser up to select where you save downloads. That way, you can overwrite your last download and use refresh in your slicer.

Very nice suggestion! Doing some digging, I found a chrome extension "Downloads Overwrite Already Existing Files" which does exactly what it says on the box. This helps a lot with being able to 'refresh' in prusaslicer, though it'd be great if there was some way to speed up the onshape side of things, making exporting faster. Cheers for this suggestion! 😊

You can have nested folders in the part studio. I don't know how else to do it: once you add steps to a folder, you can go into the folder and select subsets of those steps and add folder again. Then those steps are in a subfolder. If you want to add additional steps to an existing folder (or move another folder into an existing folder), you have to have the base folder open, then drag the new steps/folder between a couple of steps in the base folder. Then you can move drag it up/down to where you want within the folder. I hope that makes sense.

@@harrisonlow When I want something similar for assemblies, I make subassemblies that are then used in the primary assembly. Each subassembly winds up in its own tab. IIRC, if you select a group of parts you want to be a subassembly in the list, then right click, there should be an option for something like "make subassembly"

@@mirag3304 Interesting process! I'll have a play around with this for my situation right now with the fasteners; perhaps a 'fasteners' subassembly is the (current) solution. Cheers 😊

@@harrisonlow I just found an even easier way to do exactly what you want. In both part studios and assemblies at the top of the part tree is a little button of a folder with a + on it for "Create New Folder". If you select multiple items and hit that button, all the items will be added to the folder when it's created.

Can't you just make the "wrist" Z-shaped so that the hand is above the track? The cup doesn't *have* to be right next to the slider.

Good thinking! I initially had a hesitation regarding a z-'wrist' being less supportive of bending moments, though looking at the model a bit closer, it doesn't actually need to be 'boosted' up by very much at all 🤔 I'll have a play around with this in the model! Cheers for the suggestion ☺
