Atiku is supposed to be the leader of PDP since he was their recent presidential candidate but he is missing in action.

Mr. Ologbondiyan must admit that in the 2023 general elections the PDP in Rivers State had two factions, those that supported Wike for Tinubu and those who supported Atiku. PDP leaders did not actually campaign for Fubara, all the campaign were vigorously carried out by Wike and his men. Atiku almost avoided campaign in Rivers State even for himself talk of for Fubara. Immediately after Fubara won the faction that supported Atiku gradually began to show support and this support was heightened when crisis developed between Wike and Fubara and as we speak the PDP in Rivers are always proud to announce when Wike's supporters chnage to support Fubara. This established chaos in the party on the state level and that national leaders in the party including the presidential candidate turned deaf ears to what is happening in Rivers State. Who is the victim? Fubara. Right now he is just like a fish outside the water struggling to govern under pressure and distractions all because the inability of PDP both on the state and national level to step in and resolve the issues between Wike and Fubara. All the noise being made by the PDP members in Rivers is a show of with no positive outcome. Wike is not APC members but since he is working under an APC administration he is playing a very safe game by making people wonder where he belongs. I supported those who suggested Fubara to defect to APC or any other party right now before it is too late before Wike does if that will ever happen. From all the crisis facing PDP as a party right now, Fubara chances for 2027 is very slim. It is sad. Wike has no problem doing his job as the minister of FCT, it is Fubara who is left to struggle by the party he belongs to. Hopefully, he will learn before his term runs out.

It's an open truth that Wike witheld his support for the PDP in the last presidential election and by extension, Fubara never came out to support the Presidential Candidate of the party either. In my view, I think it's lack of conscience for Fubara to expect the national body of PDP to openly support him after he declined to openly support Atiku in the last presidential election. Moreover, professional politicians are weary of persons who have shown disloyalty to their benefactors as it's a trait that can be served to anyone at anytime. The people of Rivers may like Fubara and what he has done but in the Nigerian polity, the professional politicians don't like such persons and they don't entrust them with sensitive positions. Biting a finger that fed you in politics is a big red flag among the gladiators.

The last question by Vimbaye is the main issue. PDP national has to be "neutral" or play the ostrich so that all parties will keep paying their monthly party dues. Simple politics!
