Tools Used
I used a free digital art program called Medibang Paint Pro to do most of the drawing, and then exported the file to Photoshop CC to make the final colour adjustments. If you're ever on the look out for a really awesome and easy to use digital art program I really highly recommend Medibang! It features a ton of awesome brushes and supports a lot of the basic features that digital artists need u I'll have a link down below to their website!

FAQ
How long did this take?
It varies! If it's a five minute long video, then between 3 to 4 hours. If its between 7-10 minutes, it was probably a bigger piece which can take anywhere between 10-15 hours.
Where did you get that fur textured brush? tinyurl.com/yd...
Where did you get the flat brush?
That one's from the Medibang cloud (click the little cloud shaped button with the arrow at the bottom of box with the list of brushes). There you will find all the additional brushes made by Medibang - plenty of gems to download and test out.
Where did you get all these brushes and textures from?
They're from a mix of stuff! Some of them are made by other artists and you can easily find them just by typing in 'medibang brushes' or 'firealpaca brushes' into Google. Some are brushes that I made myself. Some are actually Photoshop brushes! You can import most Photoshop brushes into Medibang by downloading an ABR Viewer. Since most Photoshop brushes are in the .abr format, you can use the program to view all of them and convert them into .png files. Once you've done that just click and drag the brush image into the Medibang brush list and you'll have a new brush to play with!
You can find most of the brushes I have just by doing a Google search. Please give this a try before asking me for specific brushes! I really don't have the time to answer all the questions I get :)

a couple of answers here to questions i figure people probably will ask~ q: what are you using to sketch? a: i'm using procreate here on my ipad pro! one of the reasons i don't really show my sketching process is that i never tend to do it in one sitting. so when i'm in the process of thinking about a drawing i'll usually make several quick sketches of the idea over a course of a few days to allow me to think it over and evaluate it. and it would be hella annoying to hit the record button every time i do this in medibang, which is why i use procreate! it has this awesome feature that automatically records your drawing process when your pen touches the screen - getting rid of pauses and picking right up from where you left off the day before. the final process you see in the video looks seamless and continuous, whereas in reality i was doing those sketches on and off over a few days. q: what did you do to achieve the final colours in the piece? a: i typically export a finished painting in medibang to photoshop to fix up the colours. i used the 'auto colour' filter here to eliminate the green overtone and make the colours in the character really pop against the dark background. the auto colour/tone/contrast options can be a little hit and miss sometimes. i'm not entirely sure how the algorithms are programmed but i'll usually test them all out to see if they achieve any nice effects ^o^ i planning to release psd files of these completed drawings as a reward when i launch my patreon! ^u^

I like the fact that you added the sketching part. It was a little quick but it still gave me an idea how you got to the point of painting. I do alot of digital painting and seeing others sketches helps me alot. I get confused when I start and seing someone else's sketching gives me ideas. ps: Love your art😁

This is actually one of my favorite speedpaints that you've done so far. It is absolutely gorgeous!! The expression, the light reflections, the choker, the background.. Simply beautiful! You have again (as so often 😉) really outdone yourself!

As far as I observed, the position of the character (Body facing back, head turning at left side) is getting a little bit more often [Same as Luminous and Quiet] But anyway it still is an impressive piece that truly inspires me to do art ^w^

thank you so much! and no, unfortunately not! i made the image in my profile back in late 2016 and that was long before i started creating speedpaints for this channel xD wish i did though! that picture was the most ambitious one i did that year and it took me like 20+ hours x'D

When your brain is indecisive on what layout to do for the drawing. Most people, even me sometimes, give up with their idea or art piece due to a layout that just doesn't work well with what they want to achieve or how the drawing is coming out.

Hii! I just love this picture! It just looks (like all of your paintings) AWESOOOOMEEEE!!! Idk here some feedback if you're interested in it xD I love the character. In my opinion original (okay a blue dragon is a common kind of dragon, but something, maybe the expression looks not like any other) The lighting of this piece is just gorgeous, it looks very saturated and fitting into the piece, and the blur in the background gives it a nice little touch. The only thing that is kinda meh or idk how to describe something negiative bot nothing bad or something, something small yk? It is the color pallette, that I don't like, the blue on the dragon is a bit too desaturated and cold in contrast to the environement, but that is only a subjective opinion, so take it with a grain of salt. And one question I have: I have a little problem with consistency. I draw only like once (or maybe more) in a week and would like to draw more, but I when I want to draw, the motivation sometimes fades away... do you have any advise? Keep on drawing, I love your art, it kinda motivates me to draw cuz I want to be able paint on a such neat level too. Have a nice day (or night idk) :3

I adore your drawings! I just wonder... how would you color and shade a dragon thats in space? and how would you make the backround?

hmmm i would probably have a background that pretty dark, with clusters of specks and clouds to give it that vast space feeling. the dragon would be in shadows but there should be some sort of light source coming from somewhere, either to give it a nice rim light or to do a clean cut of light right across a part of it's body as if it's peaking out from the shadows of a planet.

hi! i think your art is wonderful ♥ i use firealpaca, and these are both very similar programs. is there a way i could (once i improve of course) make art like yours, or would i have to get medibang for a better experience? thank you!

firealpaca is decent and i actually used it for a bit before i found medibang! i think it lacks some of the features medibang has to offer, like accessing brushes in the cloud but all the fundamental stuff should all be there. i mean, medibang is free as well though and is created by the same developers as firealpaca - so if you did adopt medibang the transition costs wouldn't be high and you'll have access to a greater variety of tools in the long run ^u^
