This has got to be one of my favorite Minecraft series I've ever had the pleasure to enjoy. Amazing how much more difficult things can be without mobs. But hey, at least TNT just turns things into a bouncy castle.

While watching the video, I had an idea for how the Dripstone based killing-mechanism could work. If you place multiple dripstone spikes on top of another, the bottom dripstone will be bigger with a (presumably) 1 Block tall hitbox. So if you break the tip of the dripstone, while update-surpressing the bottom (no idea how that would work), you could get a freestanding thick dripstone. With a one block tall hitbox, the water should flush the items away. (This is only helpfull if the thick dripstone would also deal 4*fall_damage, which i can not confirm). I don't think it would really be worth it to build this tho, because of the annoyances of having to update-surpress so many blocks, that are standing directly next to each other

With the new dripstone and lightning rods there is an interesting opportunity for skyblock worlds. Add an obsidian block and a dripstone on the base of the sky island. Get a drowned farm to get copper and then make a lightning rod. add a mechanic for a lightning strike on obsidian that converts it to lava and use the lightning rod to initial the conversion.

deepslate and all other stone or hard opaque block can be used in the stonecutter to get deepslate variant as well as smelting with certain variants.

With your old dripstone version with the cells, maybe you could take stalagmite drops by pulling out the floor, and below the floor is a water stream so items can escape. This will let you take both the stalactites and stalagmites.

tested with dripstone on soul sand. Hopper does pick stuff up BUT items can get stuck on the drip stone hit box.

I know you won't be building this farm due to most recent changes in spawning conditions, however a possible solution for the items-landing-on-top-of-stalagmites issue could be foxes. Just a few foxes at dripstone level picking up those items and berry bushes for them to eat and consequently drop the items in the floor, where the hopper minecart can reach them. Trial and error considering the amount of items falling on stalagmites and the berry's growth time should provide the proper number of foxes.

I wonder what would happen if sticky pistons would be able to push/shoot items just like slimeblocks could. Obviously it would only be the one side of the piston when it is getting powered, but it would be plausible, since the crafting recipe already requires some slime. It would allow for many of these kind of farms to have a reliable item collection, without giving any unbalanced advantage

I've seen a design for item collection using dripstone that uses a piston feed tape with walls in it to move the hopper minecarts back and forth if that helps any.

Drip stone trap might be useful for iron golems or enderman farms.

With the dripstone farm, did you try using the observer at the bottom of the dripstone length with the piston at the second from "stem"/top position? Love the series by the way. Edit: I was asking about the earlier/first version shown in this video....

Isn't it possible to make a hopper minecart system with just 1 hopper minecart running on a rail below the trapdoor dripstone? But now that I think about it we might need the rail and trapdoor to be on the same block

2 high dripstone so water can flush it of and then a minecart to collect the items that fall next to them? Didnt test it but it could maybe work :D

could you flush items off 2 tall drip stone? I don't know if the hitbox of the 2 tall is any higher than the 1 tall

I waited 6 hour for 1 drip stone to grow so prepare by collecting more

Is having the hopper minecart on a rail not an option?

for the axolotl fix, could you not just place a water source to one side with a trapdoor gap in front of it? the axolotl would be drawn to the water and just fall through the gap into a second kill chamber. it's not a perfect fix but would be much simpler for farms that are already built.
