That feeling of being outside on a weekend at 8 am hearing the birds, wind and lawnmowers. Plus that extra nostalgia from the call of the mourning dove.

Grew up in Nebraska. This is honest to God how my neighborhood in the 90’s sounded like. Owls making their sounds. Lawn mowers in the distance. Birds chirping everywhere. Then in the evening, the sound of cicadas screeching all over the place. There’s NOTHING like summer time nostalgia.

@@JackycClark interestingly, it’s a mourning dove! I always thought that they were called morning doves until I realized that their name comes from the fact that the sound like they’re crying

I miss when the doves would be around my house and the summers still smelled like adventure and fun, but when you get older some of the fun fades away but never all of it. I hear this every once in a while and it brings me back to 2009 when school was done and I was up all night playing on my Wii with friends on Skype and I’d walk outside along side my pool and look up to the sunrise on the diving board. I heard this for so long and I miss it. (from Wisconsin)

The black pill: Everything is horrible, filthy, and dystopian now. The world we grew up in is gone forever. All semblence of societal cohesion, culture, and mainstram artistic creativity is gone forever. We are doomed. The white pill: On a perfect spring day, despite the polluted city and chemtrails above us, our neighborhood still sounds just like this.

Exactly my thoughts. Good idea in theory and easthetics but bad execution for a sustainable way to live long term or maintain independence. Although it would still be nice to go back with family who still lives in the burbs despite being too blind to drive by myself. Need that childhood itch to scratch.

I went from living in a quiet residential neighborhood to an apartment in a very fucked up area, I miss the fucking residential neighborhood. junkies, gangsters, mostly dirty people are fucking shitty. I remember living in the neighborhood and having good neighbors, decent people, being able to be with friends until late at night without fucking lazy people with nothing to do are screwing around This is the description of the damn area I live in now.
