Understand what kind of care (light, water, humidity) they need to thrive in your home. Also, consider the other living things at home (pets and kids), as some of these plants can be toxic. 🐕 Luckily my dog Chuy doesn't like to chew on things, or even bothers with my plants.

Get a very forgiving plant, like a snake plant or ZZ plant, and spend a few months with it. Don't over water. then add more as it becomes part of your regular lifestyle.

Just wanted to let you know that "mini monstera" is a very common misnomer for your Rhaphidophora tetrasperma. They're both aroids but don't belong to the same genus or species. They're related on the family level though.

Yes, very aware, as I’ve noted all the scientific names in the description. I referred to most plants in this video by their common names, mostly because I’m not confident in pronouncing their genus and species. 😅

Ahhhhhh! Matthew Encina + Plants = PEACE TO THE MAX. Two of my favourite things ever! 💚🤗💚 ps. Contrary to popular belief, the snake plant is HARD to keep alive (maybe it’s the climate here in Amsterdam). Mine’s dying and I know 2 other people whose snake plants haven’t been doing so well... 🤷🏻♀️

You know, Snake plants can tolerate a wide range of lighting conditions from low to bright. Though they can burn if they are in direct sunlight. It could be that it wasn't growing due to the fact that we were coming out of a dormant season (fall and winter), and have now entered a growing season (spring and summer). Give it time and a little plant food. Might be all it needs.
