Some of the artists he worked with after Candlemass were Roxette, Moby, Prodigy (the legendary video for Smack my Bitch up), The Cardigans, Metallica, Jamiroquai, Iggy Pop, The Smashing Pumpkins, Madonna, U2, Ozzy Osbourne, Paul Mcartney, Satyricon, Ali G + Shaggy, Lenny Kravitz, Christina Aquilera, Blondie, Jane's Addiction, Blink-182, The Rolling Stones, Rammstein, Maroon 5, Pink, Lady Gaga, Britney Spears and Coldplay. I saw these guys in Boston. I remember it was their first time in America and they had just gotten in that morning and so this marked their first ever U.S. performance. A friend of mine was doing the bass tech for them just for that night and he told me they were very nervous and asked me to get into it. I had been listening to them non stop so it wasn't hard for me. Halfway through the set an obnoxious guy got on stage and tried to shake hands with Messiah Marcolin and Messiah had him wait a minute and came over to me and reached out his hand. After we shook hands the bassist Leif Eidling did the same. Then the drummer came out from the kit. I was surprised but remembered it was their first US performance and I was headbanging the whole time so the entire band came up to me because, I assume, I was the first fan they shook hands with. In any case it was still an honor and they were really cool. Before we shook hands Messiah introduced "A Sorcerer's Pledge", my favorite Candlemass song and I yelled "Yes!!!" And everybody in the audience laughed. Messiah pointed the mic toward me during "A thousand years have gone, armageddon hasn't Come" part.

I just saw a brand new documentary about the swedish metal/rock scene. When they talked about Candlemass, the bassist, Leif Edling, told the story that Epicus Doomicus Metallicus totaly flopped when they released it, the vocalist didn't want to continue after he recorded it, and they nearly decided to quit the band all together. But then, the phone rang in the middle of the night, Messiah called and said "I'm gonna sing for your band. He started to sing Solitude over the phone and said "I'll move to your town in two weeks, so in two weeks I'll knock on your door and will be ready to sing" Leif had never heard of Messiah, I don't belive they were acually looking for a vocalist either, Messiah just rang, and did actually knock on the door two weeks later! He pushed the band and started the fire again! I loved that story!

I loved Candlemass from the day I discovered them, they were being played on the "Metal Shop", "the only show with teeth", back in the mid 80's. Messiah Marcolin is my favorite vocalist in their line-up.

Tony LV Do you remember the name of the 1980s heavy metal tv show? It was really low budget and I remember it had an older lady with younger head bangers in what looked like a basement studio. One kid wore a mask, Jason style.

Looks like he was somewhat dead already. Take a look at that sod, is very strange (at least I think it is). I know his history - or should I say "legend"? - but not really the details about him about how he really was as a human being (albeit he felt like was something else); can someone tell me if he really was like that? I mean, he also danced as everyone else in there, and wasn't the only one to look "soulless" in there prior to this, so maybe it was only acting. Anyway, wherever he gone after "leaking" his fluids off (you guys must have seen the pictures, with the touch of Euronymous), I hope he have found the peace he ever deserved.
