What you are hearing isn't compressor surge. Its the BOV not having a stiff enough spring to maintain a consistent pressure in its travel to open. The pulsation of the BOV opening and closing like that, is what leads to compressor surge. They replace or rebuild the turbo after every even, so I don't think they have to worry :p

@marcelmm No blow off valve. It's compressor stall that you can hear. It makes that noise because it doesn't have a blow off valve

the original is the best but this was GREAT TOO! HD is a must, I personally think this video with a good sound system is perfect for pushups and situps in the morning!

I love this car, but then again I recently brought a new Fiesta. Looks like this is the 5 door model, well was I should say. Damn impressive, can't wait to see how the S2000 does next year in the WRC. That turbo sure is working hard too.

@royaltonrotors08 This car doesn't have a blow off valve or any other kind of pressure release valve. The noise you can hear is compressor surge and is caused only because it isn't fitted with any kind of pressure valve. The problem is that it is very bad for the longevity of the turbo, as it can cause seals to blow or even cause the turbine blades to shatter inside the compressor housing. Blow off valves were designed to increase the life of turbochargers on road cars, but they reduce response

Yup you can tell it was done for effect, quick way to kill off a turbo is to let the boost bounce of the turbine blades like that. My scoob makes a similar noise, not as bad but that's more down to running induction and a recirc bov.
