Greetings from upstate New York! I love when you catch the church bells in the background. I'm a great fan of change-ringing. in fact, my favorite Lord Peter Wimsey story is 'The Nine Tailors', and I watch the Ian Carrnichael adaptation at least once a year. i hear that one of the best rings of bells on this side of the Pond is in the Old North Church in Boston, Massachusetts. (Yes, the one famous for Paul Revere's ride.) Sadly, last I heard, they can no longer be used because some genius decided to run the pipes for the sprinkler system (used in the event of fire) *through* the wheels of the bells! A great lot of finds, as usual. I'm particularly fond of the spur rowel Marie found. I wouldn't mind seeing Nigel's handle restored, if it's not too far gone. Thank you, Marie, for the little historical interlude. Informative, as always.

The partition running at an angle is a big clue, obviously small sockets to large in narrow to wide & vice versa on the other side. One side being Metric & the other Imperial.

Lol as a female who has had a husband and 5 boys, i was told many times that they do their best thinking in tht position as Nigel was against the rail, but my men used a little room ans sat for long periods of time just sitting and doing thinking! Lol 😂😂😂

What you think is a bullet tip ....could be ....but if it is magnetic , I would steer more to a Metal Rivet Head !!! The reason i ask if it is magnetic is Bullets are mostly made from LEAD and LEAD is not magnetic , so that is why you meed to check the type of metal it is . I do think the back was rusty and if thats the case throw the bullet out the window as well Lead dont rust either ...well you know the rest !!!

Noooo should have soaked in vinegar for 3 days first it removes rust and use a soft toothbrush to clean
