Peanuts and Happy Caws

Whisper and co. were exceptionally happy for peanuts this time, being quite vocal about it too. And those little hops will always be one of the cutest things. What's weird is, I hear so many stories about crows being sneaky with their caches. Well, not Whisper. She'll bury stuff right next to where she got it and give zero cares about who's watching. And yet I never see anyone raiding her caches. They'll sure chase her when she flies off with a mouthful though. There's so much of their behaviors that confuse me. I'll probably never understand their ways, but I am charmed regardless.

My ABSOLUTE FAVORITE birds of ALL !!!! Always a pleasure to see, hear, feed, and watch crows. I love all interactions with them. They are quite ingenious, sweet, wise, and beautiful birds. I LOVE CROWS !!! Thanks for posting this lovely video. ❤️❤️🐦‍⬛🐦‍⬛🥰🥰🐦‍⬛🐦‍⬛

I fount a crow that wasnt able to fly anymore. Called animal rescue that catched him, the crow looked at me very angry while put in the van. Month later, a crow comes flying towards me and lands 3 feet from me. Minute later another landed (his young one) to say thanx. This was a great moment.

@@DragaFlammis Crows normally dont come flying to you to land a few feet from you. It looked at me so its got to be the crow i helped.

My sister and I always got a chuckle on how many peanuts the crows, Steller's jays and scrub jays could fit in their beaks and crops. I think the record was five unshelled peanuts!

Wow! Those crows were either bigger or more talented. Most I've ever seen mine fit at once was 4 but it's usually 3, and even then sometimes they drop them and have to come back.

Those are not happy caws; it's maniacal devious laughter from the masterplan of hiding the peanuts under leaves so that nobody else can find them 😈

They do, actually! They have incredible memory and can recall hundreds of cache locations after a year or longer. Of course, whether the food is still there is a different matter. Squirrels and other animals will often raid them.
