I was just at a grocery store with my mother when this started playing over the Muzak. Even though i was pushing the cart, and am 50+ years old, i started dancing, being careful not to hurt anyone. Mother looked at me like I’m nuts.

My husband and I are 61 years old and we still watch all of the Peanuts specials! We brought our kids up with them, and as adults they too still watch every year! God made a wonderful man in Charles Shultz.

Yes he did. Charles Shultz humble genius and story telling with the Peanuts comic strip was a big part of my younger years. Even now as I enter my 72nd year there is still a soft place in my heart for the Peanuts gang.

As a kid in the 70s it was an annual tradition to watch the broadcast of each of the Peanuts holiday specials. So many fond memories this music brings back. Magical stuff!

Yes that's true I remember one year that I didn't get to watch it in in almost 40 Years of watching it and the next year I got to watch it for free on Me-TV I was so so so so so so happy I guess they didn't sell enough so they had to let people watch it for free but on the main channel CBS ABC and NBC unfortunately I have not in many years 😮

This Peanuts segment always brings me back to my childhood...and i am almost retirement age. But why i ask myself? It's because of the innocence of the scenario... when everything in my life was simple and uncluttered and seasonal. That is to say: no worries about expenses; no concerns about health, weight and illnesses, and the thought of summer, winter, and XMas joy! The Peanut gang brought me close to Jesus Christ and the meaning of Christmas

I watched this the first time it was broadcast, December 9, 1965, I was 10 and in the 5th grade. I have seen it most every year since and still enjoy it. And this song, “Linus and Lucy “, is still one I enjoy, along with so many others. Guaraldi wrote a timeless piece of music that still holds its own after 50+ years.

I was also 10 y.o. in ‘65. This was such an event. “Peanuts” was all the rage that year (kids, that means it was super trendy). I even got to go to a friend’s house to watch it on her color TV. Will never lose the enchantment of that first viewing. Merry Christmas!

When I was traveling to New York City from 1988 to 2005, on the Upper West Side of Manhattan there was a vendor selling Christmas trees every year. For $1 he would sell a "Charlie Brown Christmas tree." Anyone who grew up in the 70's or still watches "A Charlie Brown Christmas" every year, knows what that tree looks like. Happy holidays to all who grew up watching Peanuts on CBS and to those who watch it wherever it's broadcast today.

Back in the day these were specials that you could only see at a certain time, certain day of the year which made them special. Now you can see anything with a click of a button at any time, so kids will never really experience this like we did.

I did not have what could be construed as a happy childhood by any standard, but Peanuts, and that song, remind me it wasn't all bad. Hard to believe that was almost 60 years ago. When I lament about "kids today" it's not because I have anything against them, it comes from a place of genuine sorrow. It would suck to be a kid in today's mixed up psycho world where videos are created questioning reality itself. If the adults are that confused, how messed up it must be to be a kid. Go get em Schroder, you still rock! And that bit at the end, Snoopy slinking off, great edit.
