Proud that PJ is from my hometown. They have made quite a few an impact over the last 33 years. The music scene in Seattle during the early 90’s was a blast and it’s still rolling along.

Mike and Stone have been playing in bands since 1985, most of them were already experienced musicians when Pearl Jam formed. They were in their late 20's by the time they recorded their first album

I must confess something: I was not a fan 25 years ago. But now I am. For many reasons. One of the reasons being a fluff produced these days, and Pearl Jam showswhat thr real deal they are. Besides its good to listen to people from my so to speak, cohort... I am glad they still play. Plus Eddie Vedder playing ukulele is one of my favourite things.

you surely have a point here but i have to ad that they never sold themself out (no vids, almost no PR) like the "commercial" bands you mentioned and alone for that fact is PJ unique, on top they sell their brilliant gigs (both gigs i saw are easily in my top 5, and i saw alooooot) out in almost no time......they are maybe not the biggest band but surely one of the best (for me).......and was "grunge" even a thing? i never saw PJ in the grunge corner.......(fk, now im feeling old thinking about seeing the premiere of alive on headbangersball :D, first hour fan lol)

yeah to my knowledge they made 3 vids (alive, jeremy and evolution).......not that much in over 25 yrs and how often do you see them on tv promoting? very very rarely re grunge: i much more meant that "grunge"overall isnt a thing, its just a name where ppl can put all those 90s west coast bands in it, even when they sound completly differenty....the only thing they had in common was the clothing lol

enfant terrible you are completely right, I can bet money if they were what is called a "commercial" band they would be far more popular and widely known. The fact the are madly popular without all of the advertisement and just through touring shows their capabilities. Pearl jam is a band which love to play and are not in it for the money what so ever, that's what make their music so untouchable in my opinion. Watch the documentary ten and you will understand, comparing this band to commercial bands like Metallica as good as they are is dumb.
