You probably should do the entire set of this Unplugged session. Everything they do on this show is Diamond, trust me. You're already seen 2, I believe there are only 4 other songs maybe? The whole set is less than 30 minutes. Having said that, I highly recommend the official video for Jeremy and the live performance of Porch at Pink Pop 92.

Love your enthusiasm in listening to one of my most favourite bands. Eddie sings from the soul with such emotion and the band is still great 30 years later. 'Even Flow (video)' live version, or 'Porch' live live at Pinkpop '92 or MTV, are great place to go next to witness Eddie's and the rest of the bands energy on stage... (cos you notice how he moves about in his seat like he can't contain his energy).

I’ve been sleep on them. I’ve been listening to “black” ever since I reacted to it damn near everyday and I just added another Pearl Jam song to the rotation. Thanks for watching.

Hey Emily, Awesome reaction (as always). This song is a true story about a troubled kid who went to school one day and committed suicide in class. The lyrics are literal yet filled with metaphor and innuendo. As stated below, "Even Flow" is another great classic to check out.

SUCH a tragic event. A true story. Jeremy went to high school in Richardson, Texas. A suburb in Dallas. One day he walked into class and put a gun in his mouth and blew his brains out. Check out the official video. No wonder Eddie Vedder was full of emotion. Full of anger.

Ha, love your response to Pearl Jam's "Black." I felt exactly teh same way 25 years ago. Never imagined back then I'd be able to watch people 20 years later respond to it for the first time. Thanks for the react!

The whole Grunge era was a remarkable time in music. Almost all the bands had genuine intent in what they were creating and that honesty, whatever it was about, is really visible in the music. Doesn't matter if it's Pearl Jam, Nirvana, Soundgarden or any of the other amazing bands from this time in the 90s, you can tell as soon as you hear it that it means something. Pearl Jam is one of the greatest because they weren't just honest and genuine about what they were singing, Eddie Vedder clearly had an emotional attachment to the songs and you can see a special kind of passion, love or rage in his performances, and coupled with that incredible voice it's almost a religious experience. There is not a single flippant song in their history, not a single track just added to fill space or intended to become a hit. Everything they did, and do, has meaning behind it and you can see it in the live shows. The entire Grunge period is a perfect example of what happens when you let creators create and stop meddling for money. It's happened rarely since, unfortunately. It's hard to explain, but it really feels as though for a short time in the early 90s bands broke free from the corporate monsters dictating what should be made and somehow just did their own thing, and it was one of the most successful periods in music in history. Labels should have learned from this, but they didn't.

There are so many Pearl Jam performances that will blow your mind. Eddie Vedder is still sexy as hell while officially qualifying for AARP. (Not kidding. He was their cover boy when he turned 50 or some such.) MTv unplugged was a mind blower. But you have 30 years of material from one of the most innovative rock bands ever. It's an amazing ride.😁

The topic of this song always gets to me. Pls check out the official video (maybe KZfaq would block it but it's powerful). You can't beat Eddie Vedder for emotion and passion. I recommend Chris Cornell and Eddie Vedder in Temple of the Dog's Hunger Strike. It addresses another important social issue. 🎶🎵

Agree with Dipsydoodle...the entire Unplugged was so good. Other than Black, which you've already covered, Oceans, State of Love and Trust, and Porch were amazing performances.

People did blast "Black" out of their cars and still do occasionally. I actually hear a lot of them because I live on the way to a very popular weekend location.😊

I saw them live in 1996. I’ve seen a lot of concerts in my day because I worked at a radio station, and that concert had to have had the most energetic crowd I’ve ever witnessed and I saw Prince live twice! (Loved those shows too!) Anyway, I’m going to subscribe now. Hoping for more Pearl Jam and George Michael!

That’s ridiculous. I never could watch someone being bullied. My mouth and attitude would have hurt the bully’s feelings. Great tribute!!!
