Due to the recent episodes, I think Pearl was as if a 'gift' from White Diamond to Pink Diamond

MY THEORY: Our Pearl was made by white diamond and was a gift to pink after volleyball was tooken away by white and is now under her control. Every pearl that we've seen has their gem on the same spot as their diamond, For example : Yellow pearl and blue pearl have the exact same gem placement as yellow and blue diamond. Also rebecca said in a interview that pearl orignial owner is pink diamond, not white diamond.

I think that Color, and Rarity of gems in real life determine how high or low class gems are.

Pearl could've been all white originally, but then under the authority of Rose when Pearl was hurt, Rose could've used her tears to heal her which explains the pinking

Okay, I just want to point out, Holly Blue Agate said during That Will Be All, that she never expected to see Yellow Diamond in the flesh. Meaning that the courts of each diamond may never see gems from another court. And the Diamonds all have different colonies, along with the fact that White Diamond was the LEADER. She never would’ve visited another planet for any non-extreme reason. So our Pearl COULD be White Pearl. Just pointing that out. :) Also Holly Blue and Sapphire were both for Blue Diamond, so it makes sense that they’re blue.

Maby pearl is one of those gems that came out wrong and not accepted by others..Rose probably saw beauty in her and accepted her as her pearl ;-;

I believe pearls multi-coloring is due to her not being bossed around. if blue diamonds Pearl were to poof and regenerate, she would come back differently but in the same color, seeing that she is not to be herself but a reflection of her diamond. our pearl isn't owned and that gives her space to be herself, finding singularity by mixing colors and styles as she pleases. I'm 1000% sure Pearl belonged to White Diamond. I've legit thought this through SO many times. 1. Her clothing color scheme is actually really explainable. In real life, Pearls reflect the colors of their surroundings. In SU, it wouldn't be too far-fetched to assume then, that Pearls reflect the colors of the one she is serving. Pearls are very personal and important to the Diamonds. The other Pearls serving them have their own color scheme matching that of their owners. However, Pearl doesn't belong to anyone anymore. So the multi-colored scheme of Pearl's clothing is a smack in the face to Homeworld's hierarchy. Pearl dedicated her loyalty to Rose Quartz after she left whoever she was serving. Therefore, she changed her colors to match Rose's. Her pink hair, and white skin. I'm sure she was already white, as her gem was white. 2. The other two Pearls know eachother, yes. However when Peridot calls YD and YP shows up and Steven asks her that question, it could simply be because since then, Yellow Diamond has gotten a new Pearl because something happened to her old Pearl. Maybe she disobeyed an order and was shattered? Maybe the Pearl was shattered during the gem war? And during Stevenbomb 5, our Pearl and Blue Pearl never see eachother. They came close in "That Will Be All," however Pearl stood by the door waiting for Ruby, Sapphire, and Holly Blue. And I'm one of the mind that believes that Blue Pearl and our Pearl would have been close. Also, someone down below addressed that Diamonds may have multiple Pearls. This is entirely likely, actually. So maybe Pearl met a Yellow Pearl but not THAT Yellow Pearl. 4. Rose couldn't have had a Pearl. Why? Well, that would totally go against her cause! And she was just a common quartz soldier. In "That Will Be All," we see that there are THOUSANDS of other Rose Quartz soldiers, made by Pink Diamond. All in bubbles, however they exist. Why would a common Quartz soldier be given a Pearl? Jasper is known as the "Ultimate Quartz" and SHE didn't even have a Pearl. If she did, Jasper would have had her with her when she returned to Earth. But the only Pearl on there was OUR Pearl. 5. Some people think that Pearl served no Gem at all because she's "defective" because of her oblong-shaped gem. However, her gem actually changes shape, it really depends on who drew her out in that particular episode. And that was literally proven wrong when Pearl literally said, "When I still served..." stopped, looked away, and said "Homeworld." So that's completely out. 6. ANd then there's the fact that Jasper called her a defective Pearl in "The Return." Yeah, that happened alright, however I'm pretty sure Jasper called her a "defective Pearl" because Pearls are made to sit tall, look pretty, and be completely loyal to who they serve. And here is a Pearl with NO owner. Jasper's got a very black-and-white mindset. So to her, Pearl-Owner=Defective. 7. There's also the space suit having a Pink Diamond on it. Yeah, that really stumped me, I'll be honest. HOWEVER, I thought this one out. Pearl said she hasn't left space in thousands of years in that one episode where she builds the ship and tries to take Steven in space. Well, she would have arrived with her diamond. Yes, Earth was Pink's planet, however other diamonds visited that place, as well. Blue visited, so I'm sure the others did, as well. She wouldn't have really needed that space suit because well, why? She never went into space. And I think that was more of a decorative thing. None of the other gems have ever worn a special suit. And Pearl hasn't worn it since. Because it had been thousands of years, she hadn't really manipulated that outfit a whole lot. She had also spent all those years loyal and dedicated to Rose. Therefore, her stamp of loyalty would have changed, even in just in color. I'm sure if she ever wears it again, it'll change. Especially if she poofs between now and then. 8. As far as what happened to Pink Pearl, you have to remember that these Pearls follow their diamonds nearly everywhere. Therefore, they have secrets and know things that if they belonged to someone else, the new owner could easily get it out of them. This could prove dangerous to the diamonds, especially with how shady they are about certain things. Therefore, I think it's standard protocol to shatter the Pearl after their owner has been shattered. So I'm sure Pink Pearl is also shattered.

I have a theory Pearl belongs to white diamond. Proof 1: every thing that u just said. I believe that Pearl doesnt know the other pearls because they are YOUNGER than her. As we all have seen in previous videos, White Diamond is the BOSS when it come to gems. Maybe pearl was made for her, and for some time, she did serve White Diamond, and something must have happened(maybe the other diamonds) that caused white diamond and pearl to part. But this happened with pink diamond already existing. So Rose already existed too. Again, something caused pearl to get away from white diamond, same with Rose. They met each other, let garnet in their little group, amethyst, wars, diamonds and all that. Like if you agree.

Disclaimer: This comment was written before the video was watched. So I think that Pearl was White Diamond (or one of White Diamond's) own pearl(s). I say there might be multiple because of the fact that White Diamond seems to be the leader of the Diamonds, which you can find out more about in Cartoon Universe's video, "Is White Diamond Corrupted?" (Sorry, i don't have a link) Anyways, I think Pearl was White Diamond's because of her placement of her gem. White Diamond's gem was/is on her forehead, and Pearl's gem is on her forehead. Yes, I know thats dumb like "Katie come on just because someone has a similarly placed gem doesnt make them the same!" Now now calm yourself lets just lookie here. Look at Pearl herself, her physical form. She has pale white skin and light hair. She supposedly was wearing shorts and a skirt when she still served Home World, because in some episodes, they showed what she looked like when Steven wasn't around. White Diamond seems to have some sort of dress-like thing or ribbon on her, if you look at the mural in the Moon Base. This might just be a design choice or representation of colonies behind her, but it looks a little bit like she has a train or ribbon or something similar. After regenerating, Pearl has a ribbon around her waist that trails behind her, but then again that was while Steven was alive and she wasn't serving Home World. Please .... Even though this video is super old I have a take on this as well. I think White, Blue and Yellow Diamond came together to form Our Pearl for Pink after her outburst causing Pink Pearl to be controlled by White Diamond. It would explain why she has all the colors of the Diamonds in her original state (Seen in The Steven Universe Movie). By all the Diamonds creating our Pearl, it would make sense that she has a deeper form of personality that isn’t just based on her Original Diamond like we see with Blue, Yellow and Pink Pearl.😊

the reason pearl is defective is because her gem is an oval, not a circle, not because of her colour scheme. i mean gems can change their colours when they reform. our amethyst is a defect but she did change the colours, and so did the other amethysts so they'll represent they belong to blue.

What if the diamonds fused and Pearl was made for the fused diamond?

This makes a lot of sense, especially since Rose and Pearl fused into RAINBOW Quartz. However, I still believe Pearl belonged to someone important before she met Rose. "Back when I SERVED... Homeworld" That means she had to have been under someone's command for a while, and if it was Rose, she wouldn't be so cryptic. Though, I imagine her former master constantly ridiculed her before she joined Rose.

I like this theory! Steven universe has long been about acceptance, and for pearl to be rejected by the diamonds only to be accepted by rose quartz, it would give her a good reason to betray homeworld in the first place!

In the episode as you can see Pearl's owner was Pink Diamond (Rose Quartz) and while Pink Pearl's owner was White Diamond but Pink Pearl changed into White somehow because she was mind-controlled by White Diamond, So in that case I would thought that White Diamond gave her old pearl to Pink Diamond or maybe they just switched pearls.

If she was made for White Diamond, why is she on Earth? A Diamond's Pearl is like a right hand man, you tell them your secrets and you stay close. Pearl wouldn't be sent on a mission. That wouldn't make sense. Neither would her being able to escape White Diamond, who clearly seems to live in a very far away solar system and isn't very in touch with the others. They didn't have the hyperspace tech back then, so she can't out run her. And why would Pink "adopt" a Pearl who's supposedly "meant" for another diamond? Especially when that Pearl is in a place far away from Earth? That's a waste of resources to go pick up some fancy Pearl when Pink could probably grow a better one on Earth. And about her defect. I think it might be either her strength or her abilities. Why does a gem who is meant to be "eye candy" have the ability to summon a weapon? It makes more sense for Peridot to have one! Or perhaps she's supposed to have strength to deal with pests that mess with her owner, and she just isn't as powerful as she should be. Like Amethyst.

When you think about it, Pearl DID know about the Diamond base and its location, so, it is very likely she belonged to a Diamond, and I also think she wasn't defective, because in "Bubbled" when Garnet explained why the Rebellion started in the first place she explained "So Amethyst could be herself, so Pearl could be free, for me to be together, for you to exist." Don't you think if Pearl was defective, she's would have the same explanation as Amethyst? Also, in "It Could've Been Great" when Peridot found the unique stone, and when she moved her hands, nothing happened, until Pearl stepped on it, which resulted in it turning white, if she was meant for Pink Diamond, I really think the step would have glowed pink. But anyway, that's just my theory.

Multiple points in this video were invalid. Pearl was originally mostly colourless, and her current colour scheme is probably due to her part in the rebellion; she doesn't want to just be a pearl. I believe that she doesn't know Yellow Pearl because it's possible Yellow Pearl was created/used after the rebellion. Holly Blue Agate might have also been created post-rebellion, or even during the rebellion. Even if she wasn't, she probably wasn't going to point out the uniqueness of Pearl out of fear and respect for Sapphire. She may not have even noticed. Also, it is entirely possible that she believed that Sapphire intended for her to look like that. Also, Pearl may have been 'defective' in another way- as people have pointed out, her gem is more ovular instead of circular. This could've still resulted in Rose adopting her as her own. I think her originally being White Diamond's, if only for a short while, is most likely. Her gem placement and original colour scheme are too close for her to be anyone else's.

Our pearl might have been a gift from ALL the diamonds since her color scheme, yellow, blue, white, and most importantly her diamond, pink. Since white took pinks original pearl (volleyball) they wanted to give pink something to make her feel happier.
