Ain't no digital and for a hybrid the tubes are in the right section. Spring reverb. Again NO DIGITAL, BETTER than most amps today. It loves your analog pedals.

Peavey amps rock. The classic series, Bandit series and the hybrids all rock. Even the audition 110 is good stuff. The Envoy and Studio Pro are also the stuff.

I've owned one of these for 30 years. You've got to set the pre and post gain to at least 3 to get good sound which is very loud. I recently added a simple L-Pad attenuator and it really makes the amp sound nice at all volume levels. These were designed to be very loud and these is no setting that would be appropriate inside a house without an attenuator.

The knobs have been changed from their stock positioning. From the factory the two white knobs are for the "pre" knobs for the clean and lead channel. The blue knob is the post for the lead gain channel.

Huh, I knew somethin didn't look right on it. I notice a lot of these Peavey's have the knobs rearranged every which way lol.

What about putting an Effectronics Blackbird in front of it from time to time. I got a 73 Classic 50 for $20! $20! We tested it in the guy's storage shed - no sound - bought it anyway. I must have a magic car or he had a bad guitar - plugged everything in at home to check things out and, scratchy pots - duh - but sound!!! You know of anything less spendy than a Blackbird to check out the idea? I want to put one to this amp. But already - that 6L6GC break up and grind. Awsome!

Thanks for the review. I have this amp as well, wondering if it would be worth it to drop a couple of nice celestions or jensens in it for recording or if I should be looking at another amp entirely? I would like to record analog mic'd up with it. Currently the scorpions have blown out cones. Thanks

They have to be played loud to sound good. Master volume always on full, so you saturate the output tubes before the pre-amp. The pre-amp distortion is horrible. Just crank it up!
@kikster936 жыл бұрын
yep, gotta crank these old peaveys!

When your say 65 watt amp, are you referring to the input or output ? I have this amp as well and noticed that it says 200w on the back, same as yours in the video. I'm not too sure on how it works maybe you could clarify about that
@kikster936 жыл бұрын
65 watts output.
@clintboyd59596 жыл бұрын
kikster93 ok I gotcha. So the 200 on the back is for the speakers right ? 100w for each speaker ? Just trying to get a better understanding of how it works
@kikster936 жыл бұрын
Not sure what the 200 is for. I myself am not totally technically privy to all the inner workings of an amplifier.
@Dr_Reason5 жыл бұрын
200 Watt is supposed to be the amount of power it draws from the outlet. So basically 65 watt out means it is also a 135 watt space heater.
