We get a tour of the historic Hollywood Theater that's currently under construction as it's transformed into Row House's second location. We learn about the ghosts of its past and the pinball machines in its future on this installment of Yinzer Backstage Pass.

Very exciting news, especially the deveolpment of the various basement spaces and the acquisition of a 70mm projector. Been seeing movies here since the 80s & I'm glad rowhouse is treating this project with care. Happy Dormont is enjoying a revival recently. Thanks Boaz, go check out back alley brewing in the old firehouse by the library while you're in dormont and then visit the historical society in the municipal building. Really enjoy the channel; you go to some nifty places.

What an awesome new venue for Pittsburgh. I always believed that Pittsburgh proudly embraced its steel, various ethnic populations, and of course its sports legacies. But it never really celebrated its cultural contributions to the world as well. As Brian mentioned, the Warner Brothers started its core entertainment business with Nickelodeon Theaters in Pittsburgh. So I am really impressed with the vision and passion for this new project. A possible theme night suggestion could be Yinzers in Hollywood? To celebrate our very own stars, like Gene Kelly, Michael Keaton, Shirley Jones, Jeff Goldblum etc. Continued success and cheers!

They didn’t “rip the heart” out of it. If anything they exposed things that haven’t been seen in decades, like the wallpaper from the 40s. That’s the real heart of the theater.
