I've learned that if you flip your containers (cottage cheese, sour cream etc) upside down it helps to keep an airtight seal on the lid preventing spoiling/mold. 😊

Store your asparagus in a glass container with water on the bottom in the refrigerator. It’ll last much longer and won’t get slimy if not kept in plastic.

An easy tip for open sauces and things in the fridge is to put the date that you opened it on the container. That way you know for sure how long it's been in there.

I keep a Sharpie near my fridge. Before I put a partial jar of anything in the fridge, I put the date on the top. That way, I know how long it’s been in there. No more guessing if a food is still good 👍🏼

I like how realistic you are with your meal plans and grocery hauls. I was a member of a paid meal planning group for 1 year. I took a lot out of the group but at the same time, also often felt like a failure. So many mamas were only spending $600 a month for their families of 4-6 and a good month for us was $900-1000, but realistically we were spending a couple hundred more. With different diets in the house (ours is similar to yours), a diabetic child and picky children, you buy what they will eat. I love meal prepping but like you also need some of the shortcut foods and can't make everything from scratch.

We used to get half a side of beef and a half of pork when we were kids. It's something to really think about - it's expensive up front but you won't need to buy meat or pork for a couple of years. We didn't do chicken but we did have dairy deliveries three times a week until we were in high school. The only things my mom would get at the store were produce, canned goods, etc.

We have a vintage Amana fridge/freezer too and love it. Ours is a side by side which I don't love as it is hard to get things in the freezer, but it is awesome. Thankful for it. We bought it used shortly after we were married and we've been married for 30 years this month. They don't make them like they used to for sure. It is our extra fridge/freezer now as it is Harvest Gold lol.

that prosciutto in italy we usually make panini, some good quality ciabatta bread (you toast it after with the 2 ingridients inside) prosciutto crudo and bire cheese. When is high quality fresh cutted you eat it also in aperitivo or on top of a melon or burrata in summer but that one in a tosted panino with melted brie

I love using the laundry detergent sheets instead of lugging huge bottles of laundry detergent (that are mostly water anyway) into my home for our laundry needs. I really enjoyed your fridge inventory and your honesty too about it .. I know I’m constantly trying to use my fresh foods dairy and produce up quickly but I’m not always quick enough before some of it spoils and I hate to waste food especially with the high prices on food these days! I enjoyed that you showed us what you got and the information on what you had planned to use with the items you bought . I would like to see more videos of you showing us how you plan on using up your food items that you have purchased before they go bad . Now that schools no longer have home economics classes to teach young ppl to cook and be economically mindful of household food/items I’m sure younger people might need a video like that ..just a thought. Awwww it’s funny how animals are like children and always want your attention right when your busy doing something!! ❤️🐕🐶🐕 ❤️ You are so right about the cost of eating out and I was actually complaining to my hubby about the cost of eating out just before I had started watching this video! Lol ! But I still continue to find myself in my car going through the fast food line more than I like to admit to !! I enjoy your honesty we are all human and we are all trying to do the best we can in all areas of our lives! Blessings 💕

I know this is crazy but I just filled up my freezer and pantry (fridge is always hit or miss on whether I buy a lot of stuff to go in there).... i'm feeling so overwhelmed. I have so much stuff to use up oh my gosh. I tend to buy things when they're on sale and then set them aside until I can make a recipe with those ingredients. I have a list with all of the needed ingredients for so many meals but for some reason... my overflowing freezer and pantry (literally have a cabinet that is my "overflow pantry") is weirdly causing me stress. Blarrr.
