Mam one doubt if y steals the end of the word e and i sound eventhough some words In end we use i as a letter eg. deepavali we use to end with i why not y???could you explain mam???

No. Only - f,l,and s. For Example, take the word mad, pan, can, sit. We dont double theses consonants, But when you write 'call, bill, staff we will double these consonants.
