It took me a little while to figure out what pegs are. My grandmother and mother had these bags hooked to the clothes lines. We called the pegs clothes pins. Very handy.

I've just sewed many little dresses as peg bags. This project is really cute Usually when I work on a project that need to be symmetric I only draw one side and I turn it on the other side in order to obtain a perfectly symmetrical pattern

This is really cute. I do have a clothes line to hang my laundry out in the summer. I think I'd sew the back & front together with the right sides facing out, then put the binding on the outside to frame it. Thanks for sharing your pattern & time.

I'm glad you enjoyed it 😃 yeah it will be perfectly fine in the elements, although the fabrics may fade. I think the first one I made has faded in the last couple of years because I don't remember it being so pastel 🤣

Very Cute and Useful Bags! Couple of suggestions to consider for your bag: (1) if you want the raw edges on the inside not to fray, either serger them or overcast them and thereby you won’t have so much bulk on those inside seams; and (2) fold your paper or card stock in half lengthwise and draw along the upper edge of the hanger from edge to the center of the hanger, then cut it 1/4” above the drawn line; and when you open your pattern piece you will have a symmetrical piece for your front and back of the bag. (3) us this same process for the drawing the opening of the bag. I can see this bag being for many different items. Thanks for sharing with us the adorable idea.❤

Hi Rachel, just wanted to say thank you for this excellent tutorial! I've watched it about 50 times over and followed along to make my first proper from scratch diy project. I didn't end up quilting, just used one outer fabric and another lining fabric. I also finished the inside edges by pinking and snipping the shoulders and zigzag stitching the three straight edges. I couldn't be happier with the end result, so thanks again for sharing!
