As a Vet myself, I did it not for the government, but for my love of this country and the people.

I am one of those 460,000 Veterans suffering from PTSD I had to fight for my 100% disability for over 20 years before I got it. If it wasn't for my wife telling me to not give up and dispute it every time they denied me for this or that I would have nothing. I was in Desert Storm on the ground was in the middle of it back in 91 and the Sh^% I saw and had to endure was to much for me. and wouldn't you know it the PTSD was the hardest disability for me to get approved, but I finally got it.. God this video hits home. thank you.

I am 72 years old. My father took part in world war 2 landing on Normandy Beach...my brother spent 22 years in the army with 1 tour in Korea, and 2 tours in Vietnam. My late husband was drafted upon his graduation from highschool and sent to Vietnam. He came home 13 months later and was never the same. So Pegasus I understand your frustrations because I have the same. Every male in my family has served in a wartime event. I personally want to scream in anger and frustration in what I am witnessing today. Thank you for your faith, thank you for your honesty, I'm a fan, Dian Hall.

Old divorced fourth generation vet here, with TBI and PTSD, was homeless for three years and now I am existing under a VA program for homeless vets. I don't have much of a life anymore and spend most of my time alone. But it is what it is and there are a lot more in worse shape than me. Never forget, freedom comes with a price. Someone will pay it or it will be lost.

Dude, this one makes me cry EVERY TIME! Daddy was career Navy, I grew up on bases all over. Veterans are VERY important to me. THANK YOU for featuring FFDP and this song specifically. Hopefully it will bring a little awareness to more people about the state of veterans affairs in this country.

@Black Pegasus, Thank you for reacting to this video. It is very powerful and as a Veteran it hits home with me. The one part that really got me is were the officer is arresting the Veteran and noticed they have the same tat, which is from their unit or platoon. This has happened to me. I have issues with potholes and man holes due to PTSD, when I was driving on the road I was serving to avoid them. A police officer pulled me over. Now on the back of my car I had the Screaming Eagle from Fort Campbell and a sticker that said Retired Veteran. Well when the officer approached my window, he asked for my license and registration and all that. Then he looked at me and said the most awesome thing ever. He said I got you. At that point I started to weep because it meant a lot to me, then I noticed that he has the Screaming Eagle tat on his arm which represents Fort Campbell. So he asked me where I was going, I told him I was going to visit my mother and had about 30 miles to go. He then told me to follow him after I gave him my mother's address. So he put on his lights and I followed him as he swerved the pot holes and man holes I did the same. When we finally arrived at my mother's house, I got out of my car and he did the same and gave me a big hug and said I am safe. So of you who may read this will know what I mean.

Im an OIF vet from 2003. When i came back and subsequently released i very much was one of these men in the video. I have anxiety, depression, ptsd, nightmares, struggle sleeping. Lost my wife and kids over it. I tried to get help when i got out, but miraculously the VA couldnt help, as i had lost my paperwork being homeless. Over the last 20 years I managed to find a good woman to help me through these things, and created another family. I still struggle, and currently am fighting the VA but my wife has made it alot easier.

To any veteran or active soldier, respect and thank you for your service. You deserve better.

Formerly serving United States Marine here, I myself have almost ended up homeless and spent 90k diagnosing and treating the pain my service has left me with no help from the VA, so I feel this song pretty hard , still going and struggling a bit, but will survive, but always makes me upset thinking about how much our government has failed those that have served this country especially seeing all the money spend on illegal immigrants that could have helped my fellow Marines and service men and women

Trace Atkins has a sound called Til the last shots fired. He performed it at one of the award shows and a vet introduced it. What he said was 100. It's not about the war but the warrior. They risk their lives to protect others. They deserve the respect and appreciation above anyone else

As a veteran I have have seen these guys live and it’s one of the best concerts I have ever been to. The love love they feel for the military personnel is so palpable and heartfelt. It was amazing

I’m a 3rd generation soldier (now out) and my son is in the NG. One of the most alarming statistics is that only 1% of our population serve and of those that do 70% of new recruits come from military families. 60% of veterans under 40 come from military families. The US has always had professional soldier families within the services, but these have mostly been in the Officer Corp. We are quickly creating a Warrior Class in our society. That means we are ever more dependent upon the same families, and then we see our brothers and sisters treated like this. We as a society have to better.

My dad is a Vietnam veteran who has suffered from PTSD since the war. Agent orange has caused all kinds of illnesses for him and it is so sad to imagine. I am his in home caregiver and I personally have had to fight for his healthcare. My dad is my hero! Never seen the video but always loved the song... watching the video brought on a whole new perspective. I had tears in my eyes. I never served but grew up in San Diego and have many military friends. I have always had and forever will respect the sacrifice they have given for my freedom. Not only our military but the protection we have everyday in our country is a blessing that is taken for granted!!!! We live in the greatest country on earth!!! .... but sadly, the old and new twisted youngsters that run our country are blind and have NO respect but they have expectations without rewards or thankfulness!!!! I joined the army in '04. I was stationed at Ft. Carson for 5 years. I am an OIF vet also. This video is one of the reasons I love FFDP so much. They are my absolute favorite band. I've been homeless and also struggle with addiction trying to cope with my PTSD, anxiety, depression amongst other things. It destroyed my first marriage. Getting help from the VA can be an absolute nightmare. They are building places to house people who aren't from here. Not any for veterans. Like WTF. It's really sad that we put our lives on the line and then are just thrown away. Thank you for this video and your support. It means so much.

My son was one of those veteran's. He was a Marine. At times homeless. He was too proud to ask for help, so when we tried to help, he would push away. We were able to help him through some of his rough times and thought things were much better for him. He became a helo flight instructor and had a great setup. He was living in the bunk house of a very wealthy family of farmers in Missouri training them to do their own crop dusting. He was helping them to start a flight school to train other farmers in the area. Then things took a bad turn and he took his life. Left his 6 year old son and a family who loved him more then he could ever believe. People just don't understand the pressures veteran's have reintegration back into society when they leave military service. This song always touches me. I have been wanting to start a veteran's village in Tampa Florida for some time. My plan would to help them be self sufficient by receiving much needed counseling, job training, a wood and auto shop, and grow their own community garden. If you want to help make it a reality, I would forever be grateful.

As a disabled veteran I have been homeless. I have seen the best and worst of people up close. This song always twists my guts and makes me cry.

BP I was in the Air Force also. I was in civil engineering. I was in during the First Gulf war. I was in charge of keeping a remote hospital burn unit up and running. Seen some bad stuff but made it through. Thanks for doing this video.

I graduated from medical school and then worked in the ER of a children's hospital and in a neonatal ambulance for many years. But there, unfortunately, I saw too much death again. Now I work as a handyman in a hotel. Anakin Skywalker said: Life seems so much simpler when you're fixing things. I totally agree. I'm fixing what people broke everyday. My fiance is a hardcore R&B/pop/beyonce music enthusiast. I am a punk rock, hard rock, metal head enthusiast and she ALWAYS would complain when I blasted it in the car or in the house while cleaning and doing chores. I showed her THIS song and she immediately started crying and understood why I listen to this kind of music. See, her younger brother served in Iraq. I was in the Army. He was the one providing security escorts to supply convoys. If you know, you know what they went though. They were the hardest hit during the 2000's Iraq war. Once she heard this song it changed her view on this style music. It opened her eyes to expand her taste in music.

BP, thank you for your kind words and obvious respect towards veterans. Yes, we have a broken system in this country that needs to be fixed. I served 26+ years because I love this country and understand what is at risk. I have no regrets for serving and don't need thanks for it. But I have to say that the new world we are dealing with socially and politically very well might destroy the county that so many have served to protect.

As a 100% disabled VETERAN I served 04/1980 - 12/1991 my disability is for PTSD Like many other veterans here I joined for the love of our great country and if I could I would do it all over again.

Both my father, my oldest brother and one of my cousins are Marines. While my father never saw combat, my brother and cousin were sent to Afghanistan. My brother came home alive, but my cousin would be victim of a IED. I detest war. No matter the reason it happens.

I joined to serve my country. I deployed because it was my duty/commitment. I FOUGHT & CONTINUED THE FIGHT For our brothers and sisters to our left & right. I am PROUD to have served. If i was asked to go back it would be considered my HONOR! Despite the fact I was discarded like a piece of garbage by the government. I would pick up my rifle & throw my aid bag on my back without a second thought!!! I was 26' from the point of impact of a 500lb GBU-12 laser guided bomb dropped by our own Air Force. Miraculously I'm still here but suffer from PTSD, TBI, anxiety, hearing issues, nerve damage etc... And I had to fight 10 times harder than I did on my deployment just so that I could barely reach 80% disabled I don't make enough to support just myself let alone my family. If it wasn't for my wife my kids my mom I would be one of those homeless veterans for sure without a doubt. My deployment was captured by video from all the soldiers and my chaplain and he turned that into a documentary that I'm in called "No Greater Love" on prime video. It has the "ACTUAL" bomb that blew me and 13 of my guys up. The furthest person from point of impact was about 50'. We were not in a vehicle or building and we're all still here. It's an amazing documentary It even tells a story of one of my captains in my battalion that got shot in the head fell 250 ft off a cliff not down a hill off a straight face cliff landed on his back We couldn't get a helicopter to him for hours because of the firefight and the location he was in. We got him medevaced he was then transferred to Germany where he received care and after 3 months he came back to Afghanistan to finish out the deployment with his troops This is the stuff that soldiers do for people and the fact that we're all suffering even people that get 100% disability and receive maximum benefits It's wonderful to see when that happens but it's still not enough We still suffer... Thank you so much for your input on this video. I am a Staff Sargent of the US Marine Corps. I have been in combat and this is pretty much to the truth as you can get. I have lost several of my brothers during my time in service. When you are in war your brothers and sisters that you are stationed with are the only family that you have, and losing one of them is just as bad as losing a real family member. The VA doesn't like to help veterans because of funding. But no matter what those service members signed a contract to serve and protect the United States of America. No matter on their discharge the United States of America should be taking care of them. I myself have been out of the Marines for 23 years now and I still have been having issues with the VA. I've had 3 strokes and 3 craniotomies and have been left with having uncontrollable seizures that can kill me. I've been shot, blown up in a Humvee ( do to an IED) lost hearing in pretty much and suffer from PTSD. But I wanted to thank you for your review on this song and, because I am glad that someone sees it now.

It's such a great song. I wouldn't call myself a ffdp "fan" but I am a fan of this song and their musicianship. They really are a good band that a lot of people love to hate.

US ARMY OIF vet here. 5 years in avionics. First woman in my family to serve, and my family's served in just about every war since the Revolutionary War. I have both great and awful memories of my time in, and I know I'm one of the lucky ones because I was able to utilize my benefits to get a great job. But it takes a LOT to get there. dealing with ptsd, anxiety, panic attacks, deaths of friends and servicemembers, you just never really get over it fully. You just learn how to fake it the best way you can while dealing with it.

They fight for veterans and first responders with their music and other projects. They use veterans in their videos, on tours, etc. Please consider reacting to the collaboration between Five Finger Death Punch, Kenny Wayne Shepherd(who wrote the song and original band), Brantley Gilbert and Brian May. this song is so more then just a song ..... mad respect for all the men and women how served and are serving this country

I just retired from 21 years in the Navy. Fleet for 4, Seabees for 17. Iraq/Afghanistan and more. For the love of Country and Family is why I did it. And there are faces I'll never see again because of it. But I'm extremely grateful for what I've gained from it. And I'd do all over again with no hesitation.

FFDP has some of the most heart wrenching lyrics of any band I've heard, and it is ALWAYS shocking because they do sound like just hard rock, but then you listen and it just hits deep in your soul.

It always hits hard. This and Machine Gun by Badflower tear me from the bone. That song is a conversation I had with my conscience when I got home from Afghanistan at 25 with a Purple Heart and thinking that was the lamest thing ever, only to come to realize now at 28 that that was ignorant. But it’s hard to get out of your own head. Especially when it’s filled with horrors of war and the feeling that you didn’t do enough. But I did enough, and I am learning that I AM enough. Another problem is that the migrants are being treated at VA hospitals, with puts our veterans on the back burner.

I was never a metal fan until my son introduced me to Five Finger Death Punch. As a Veteran, I appreciate their love and acknowledgement of Veterans and their service. I promise you there isn't a single one of us who doesn't question the Government and its handling of Veterans vs illegal invaders. It takes Years of battling with Burocrats for a Veteran to even get into the VA system, and even longer to get approved for those Disablities acquired during our service. But foreigners can come here illegally and get Medical care, Housing, Education, money, all without doing a thing to earn it, save for a pledge to vote Democrat if given a chance to illegally vote. Its disgusting how our Government renigs on its promises daily. When my son became old enough to serve, I discouraged him in every way, because I didn't trust Obama and his Department of Denfensless. I certainly don't trust Biden. No way I'd want my son to go through the things I have, only to be discarded afterwards. Anyway, sorry, getting too political now. FFDP has a few other great Veteran type songs you should check out.

B.P. I understand your perspective on the homeless vet issue. In 92, I was working as a security guard in different locations in the San Diego area. Worked with several VN Veterans. Being a kid from rual areas of TN. Nothing made me sadder or angrier than how our government treats our veterans. I even knew a guy a few years older than me who had served in the first Desert Storm. Slowly but steadily lose control of his bodily functions due to the stuff he was exposed to over there. I almost joined the Marines in 88. However, I was medically disqualified due to injuries to my back and knees from sports. I've seen a lot of things I wish I hadn't. Still doesn't hold a candle to what veterans have witnessed, especially those who were in this Nation's conflicts.

This song is very emotional. Great reaction to this video. The first time I saw this video it made me cry. Now everytime I even hear this song on the radio I tear up. A lot of my family is military. My Grandpa was army. My mom was born in Germany while he was stationed over there. Two of my uncles are retired veterans. One uncle is retired USAF with 30 years, He was in Desert Storm. My other uncle is retired Navy. I tried to enlist but i got DQ'd due to medical reasons. I now work with the Air Force/Space Force as a contractor so at least I can serve my country another way by supporting our troops.

My father was a veteran in Vietnam and made me a proud son. He eventually took his life but had the bravery to be a father a hero and a purple heart recipient before he gave his life to his 😢 country .

I'm a vet also.... But what I love about 5 finger is basically every song they have I can totally understand and relate to all of them!! You need to do a LOT MORE OF 5 finger!!!! I'm sure you will agree

I lost count at 30, the number of guys that took their own lives in my battalion after our deployments. I appreciate videos and comments like these that help raise awareness and help people remember. Wrong side of heaven, righteous side of hell...so aptly put.

This one hits me EVERY time. Ppl can think what they want about military and war; but these vets were told/sold on a cause. Even if you want to say it was for nothing; they deserve a hell of a lot more
