Here is a crazy story Waylon was supposed to be on the plan that crashed with buddy Holly, the big bopper, and Richie Valentine's, he was buddy Holly's guitarist, but because of the coin toss he got stuck on the bus... may look at the accuracy of the last part but first part is true
@ConspiracySmurf4 ай бұрын
BP, check out a movie called "La Bamba" for that story, the song was a huge hit when this movie came out you heard it everywhere.
@amyhunter74014 ай бұрын
Waylon actually won the coin toss but gave up his seat to the Big Bopper because he was sick and wanted to see the doctor before their next show. Waylon spoke many times of regetting the last joking words between him and Buddy Holly. Buddy Holly told Waylon that he hoped he froze on that old bus and Waylon shot back that he hoped that old plane crashed.
@billybee34234 ай бұрын
It’s a true story that haunted Waylon for years because they were both trash talking each other, and Waylon said “I hope the damn plane crashes”, and it actually did.

For the last 10 years of Johnny's life he was produced by Rick Rubin (yes, the Beastie Boys - that Rick Rubin). They made 5 albums. The last album American Recordings: the Man Comes Around was released after Johnny died. It is a certified MASTERPIECE. I've never heard an album so perfect from beginning to end! When it was recorded, Johnny was in and out of the hospital with pneumonia, had a severe neurological disease, was blind, could no longer walk and was in constant excruciating pain. Some songs were recorded while Johnny was laying down. His spirit never gave in, his body just couldn't carry him anymore.

Talking about outlaw music in country music, give Steve Earle a listen on singing Copperhead Road…the video tells a great story. Another is his Guitar Town. His brand of outlaw music kept him on the bad side of the big men that run Nashville. No country music awards, but 3 Grammies for his album. He also wrote hit music for other singers.

Hank Jr has done other duets with artist, but those are three you should check out.

Waylon, Willie, Cash, all their kids & grkids are doing music together & apart! Waylon was married 4 times! The last one, Jessi Coulter was the best one. Struggle is ok. Shooter, the son he had with Jessi is a singer & producer. Waylon's wife Jessi played keyboard for him & she had a beautiful somg called I'm Not Lisa! She was part of the Outlaw Movement. You should try Waylon & Jessi doing Honkey Tonk Angels!! His name was actually Wayland, but that didn't sound as appealing, so they dropped the D!! The Conversation with Hank jr & Waylon is a great song! Waylon has a great one called Outlaw Bit. Love em all!! ❤

Waylon Jennings almost boarded the flight that killed Buddy Holly and Ritchie Valens. But he gave up his seat to another guy. And Waylon always felt guilty because before that flight, he and Buddy Holly were ripping on each other by jokingly hoping bad things would happen to each other, and Waylon replied to Buddy Holly that he hoped his plane crashes...and then it did.
