I was one of the two EMT's that brought Peggy Lee from Saint Johns Hospital to her home just days before she passed away. And I want to say she was just as sweet a person as I have ever met. So grateful for us helping her to her home. I will alway remember her wonderful smile. She gave us an autograph photo before we left her home. With all she had to deal with, she had the humanity to think of others over herself. I was sad to hear of her passing soon after I got the wonderful chance to meet her. Such a beautiful and sweet lady! Thank you Miss Lee for that memory .

I sat next to Peggy Lee on a flight from Chicago to San Francisco. She was one of the funniest and most charming people I've ever met. She told me this hilarious story about a intoxicated heckler who kept interrupting her while she was singing in a club in New York. He kept yelling, "Sing Is That All Their Is." She complied to shut him up. A couple of days later, she got a note of apology from the heckler. When he got home that night after seeing her performance, his house and burned down. Be careful what you ask for in life. Rest in peace, Miss Lee.

As a teen growing up in Compton, CA I didn't have a clue who Peggy Lee was. Then I saw her perform "Is That All There Is" on television. My first thought was "what a pretty and sad lady. As I listened to the song, I was drawn to her voice. I was into Motown and Soul Music in general. While Miss Lee's voice didn't fall into either category, I really enjoyed it and I became a fan. After viewing this clip, a light bulb went off in my head. Less was more! That's what hooked me. It was her way of telling a story without all the shouting, bells, and whistles. Just Peggy Lee and her voice and what a voice it was!

Peggy Lee was a pure STYLIST for her music. I heard a story when Lieber & Stoller had written "Is That All There Is" that she called them up, when one of them answered, simply "don't give that song to anyone, I want it! She didn't even say who she was.

As a North Dakotan (born and raised ), let me point out that Peggy's home town of Wimbledon now has a population of about 198 people. However, even in North Dakota's 'largest' metro area of Fargo (about 250, 000 people), that very cold North Dakota wind can blow up to 50 mph. It is windy in North Dakota every single day, with winds of 5 to 12 mph on the average day. It is totally relatable to crave a different life away from her abusive childhood, the unforgivingly cold winters and wind in North Dakota, and wanting more out of life. Peggy Lee is an absolute legend !

This profile nailed it. I was 13 in 1969 and deeply affected by Peggy Lee singing Is That All There Is? on the AM radio. I've never gotten over it (even though that was a small part of her life and career). Her granddaughter is very impressive herself. Peggy Lee didn't just go around the world of her life and times; she went around the universe.

Peggy Lee; soft- sultry - silkened - Her delivery of songs was easy going & her music filled our house along with Patti Page on 78s through Dads love for the two “broads”(as he use to say- tough but compassionate). In my opinion, she had a great jazz vocal. I grew up surrounded by great jazz music in my house courtesy of my father. But Peggy Lee was not in his collection. He's gone now to ask why? But knowing my dad, I would guess 2 reasons: 1. she was strong and resilient; 2. She was blonde. Other than that, her musicality was impressive. I'm a fan.

Its funny how sometimes it seems the universe wants you to know more about someone. I have been watching a lot of clips of Peggy in the last couple of months and then I see that someone at CBS Sunday morning decided to do a segment on her. Why now? But it fits perfectly with my quest to know about her. She was one of a kind. Some of the "belter" singers out there would be wise to understand that its not always necessary to sing to the rafters. Understatement works just as well as overstatement. Maybe this is what people like Billy Eilish are trying to do. Not that she is in the same category as Miss Peggy Lee! Thanks for posting this!

KZfaq has some phenomenal video content of her at various times in her career. The 1959 Oldsmobile variety show with Frank Sinatra, Bing Crosby and three amazing piano accompanists is a Gem! Also, several with Judy Garland. You won't be disappointed.

Generally not my type of music, but I might buy some of hers. She was so versatile, so cool!
