I have never heard of this song until my dance teacher told us that this was our jazz song for the dance recital. I absolutely LOVE this song now!!! It is always stuck in my head!! Great job!! ❤❤

There was supposed to be piano on this song, but the piano player was late. As these three practiced, unbeknownst to them, the engineer was rolling tape. This is the result. A classic!

This is still one of the most badass songs ever. It's not complicated, the individual musicians create their sounds with an unequaled style, grace and emphasis, which are then blended together perfectly. This is music which I can get immersed in for long enough to forget my life struggles. Unfortunately the song only gives a short period of relief. Thanks for posting this. Peace 💚

TRUTH: “Fever” was originally written by R&B singer Eddie Cooley and pianist Otis Blackwell (under the pen name John Davenport). Blackwell made many contributions to the early rock’n’roll canon, including “All Shook Up,” “Don’t Be Cruel,” and “Great Balls Of Fire,” among others. The two co-wrote “Fever” in 1955 and it was recorded by the young R&B and rock’n’roll star Little Willie John, who was just 18 at the time.

When she hits that "FEVER!!!" real sharp and quick. It's like she not so much sings that lyric, but like... comes it. How did this song not incite a moral panic in the 50s? ELVIS was too much for these people. Four cute boys in matching suits and haircuts singing about holding your hand was TOO MUCH for these same people, and that was a good few years after this song.
