Would have been nice had the gentleman mentioned what I consider the real start of communal violence i.e. Jinnah/All-India Muslim League's "Direct Action Day" of 16 August 1946 in Calcutta/Bengal which the perpetrator (Jinnah) used to sell the lie 'We cannot coexist'. Remember at the time no one was buying what Jinnah was selling (partition). The rioting was orchestrated by Bengali CM Suhrawardy aka "Butcher of Bengal" (for which he was rewarded with a PMship in Bengal by the British and a PMship of Pakistan later on) It was the Direct Action Day riots that sparked off several riots between Muslims and Hindus/Sikhs in Noakhali, Bihar, and Punjab in the days that followed...

Absolutely right. You can't be selective for freedom movement. Subhash Chandra Bose was one of the first who resorted to radical measures. Yet many Like him have been ignored or discounted his moves in freedom struggle. Shame to post independence rulers mainly Congress Party. Truth cannot be hidden for long.

I had read that in 1955, an Ex Brit Governor said that UK never wanted to leave India as it was a cash cow for them but after 2 world wars UK was economically weaken n more over Netaji’s Fauj were making their life more difficult. India got independence 80% coz of Azad Hind Sena and other krantikari and 20% coz of Political parties. But when rule was handed over to the political party.
