Neelam was a breath of fresh air in the 80s. Us 80s girls could relate to her because of her age, and we all wanted to be like her. Besides her beauty, she brought the much needed grace and style to Bollywood. Not saying the other actresses were not graceful or stylish, but Neelam was a cut above them, for she was raised abroad, so she knew style. And she knows how to carry herself, both on screen and off screen, i.e. she does not fake an accent, and her diction is to be admired. Bollywood is lucky to have had her even if its for a short period.

Govinda and Neelam were always made a good pair. They performed very well in the movie Ilzaam. Neelam had come to Toronto, Canada, in the early 1990s for a stage show. I met Neelam in person at that time. She is as beautiful as we can see her in the movies. Also, she is so humble.
