Georges was one of the best (extreme) long distance fanciers of his generation, with quite an impressive palmares. He bred a pigeon collection that excelled in every distance, from sprint to extreme long distance. His pigeons were outstanding prize winners that combined speed and strength, making them very versatile. Almost every fancier is familiar with his world famous pigeons Limoges, Super As, Millennium Perpignan, and Bonten Barcelona. Georges gained an international reputation winning national first prizes from Limoges and Perpignan. He was particularly successful in the races from Perpignan, which was his most favourite classic of all - hence his nickname ‘Mister Perpignan’.
The Carteus pigeons enabled tens of other fanciers from Belgium and abroad to achieve great results at national or international level as well.
