In this video I copy Michelangelo's drawing of a Satyr, and then apply the lessons learned from the process by doing a drawing of my own. And as always, long the way, we touch on art-history, historical materials and techniques, and why copying is such a useful practice.
Here are the materials I'm using:
Pen: TWSBI mini, fitted with a EF 14K nib from FPnibs.com that has been given a semi-flex modification by Gena Salorino of the Custom Nib Studio (Customnibstudio.com). She does fantastic work!
Ink: DeAtramentis Document Brown.
Paper:
For the copy Cartiera Magniani, hot-press.
For my own drawing: Stonehenger, pearl grey.
