This playful interview with Spanish actress Penélope Cruz's interview makes it official: She has a soft spot for French cinema 🎬 (and croissants! 🥐). Not only is her French accent lovely as it is and I'm pretty sure she just made all of her past French teachers proud, but Penélope's determination to improve her language skills shines through 😊

@@Pllhoneynoo Not really, trust me. I have been to Europe and the common thing is that they know their home country language plus English and that's it. Oh and that's for countries like Germany, Netherlands or the ones in Scandinavia. If we talk about countries like France, they will only know French; in Spain, they will only know Spanish unless they are from Regions like Catalonia or the Basque Country in which they will know Spanish plus their respective local language like Catalan or Basque. Furthermore, even in multilingual countries like Switzerland or Belgium, people do not know the other languages from the other regions. By default, German Swiss will know German and English but not French or Italian, and the same can be said of a Swiss from the French speaking region of Switzerland or the same can be said from a Belgian from Wallonia that will know French but not Flemish, the local dialect of Dutch that is spokenbin the Belgian region of Flandes. The only country in which I found that people were actually multilingual was Luxembourg although by default the language they use the most is French. All the others is local language plus English and that's it.

@@victorveraruiz9216im from Spain, im fluent in English, French, of course Spanish & Catalan cause i lived in Barcelona a few years ago and im currently learning German. And this is not something uncommon between the ppl here ❤

No, it's not good. She has a strong accent and some gender agreement mistakes. I speak french, I' m not native french speaker , neither native English speaker, my mother tongue is Spanish, I ' m mexican, I lived in Paris, France, 20 years ago. So I know about good french, and this is not the case.

@@bonitolandiaa she started speaking French immediately and spoke quite fluently. That was really pretty good if she often didn't practice it.

Her French is pretty good actually! 😃 İt's interesting how she transfers the Spanish habit of saying "tú" with pretty much everybody, which İ think is quite nice. 😊

@@bennyton2560 İn France you use "vous" much more frequently than "toi" with people you don't know, whereas in Spain you use "usted" generally only in the most formal situations. other than that you use "tú" even with strangers.
