yes for sure you can also be aesthetic technical linkages with a strong foundation in the raw technicality of linkages while building aesthetically off of it. Also this might not be widely accepted, but I consider types of stability and consistency as technical. 1, stability because you can theoretically measure the distance the center point of the pen moves and a technically based goal would be to minimize this distance as much as possible to zero. 2, consistency because you can count the number of times you succeed at any given linkage/combo out of how many times you try it, giving you your successes/failure rate.

I might disagree that these are technical goals. They seem more aligned with aesthetic goals to me. 1. If stability is staying centered, in my case I try to move my hand the least I can when practicing bust, the goal of this is to make my busts look nicer rather than have better technique. 2. If consistency is getting more clean attempts, the kind that doesnt need any adjustments or corrections, again this goal aims to improve the aesthetic aspect of the trick and doesnt increase its difficulty or complexity. Both of these can be applied to power, regular or complex tricks. The terms stability and consistency are broad and can be interpreted a number of ways, but these are some examples of cases where difficulty is not the focus.

A power spinner can practice power without seeking to improve technical prowess. Personally, I think powerspinning is beautiful and I know some cases of power focused spinners that arent as technically skilled as others, but who definitely stand out through their style while executing power tricks

Your definition of control can definitely be seen as the aesthetic side of it. I was just giving an example of what technically focused control could be, but when in reality there are both aesthetically focused and technically focused goals. Yeah you could see consistency as that through an aesthetic lens, but to me this seems more like refinement which can for sure be aesthetically focused.

yes a power spinner can definitely focus on aesthetics and I never meant to say they couldn’t(if I did), but to initially learn the power tricks, they must start technically based to actually kearn those tricks. This is similar to linkages as well where you first have to learn the mechanics of how it works, then you can focus more on aesthetics when you are more confident with the tricks
